I never thought that the black stone legion wud send this many soldiers against us, guess they got pretty pissed of about the supplies and money we took.
Boulders and arrows flew over my head "defend the walls" i shouted, can't believe i actually needed to shout that i am truly surrounded by idiots, not to mention that i had to listen to Holden Cross shouting at me "come out" speak of the devil "Daubeny! it doesn't have to be like this!" does that idiot think I'm just going to open the gates so he can kill me?
I saw them pulling a latter up to the walls as one of my men was shot by an arrow i walked over to him and pull him of the wall (can't get that blood over the new paint), i walked back and pointed to one of my soldiers "keep them off the walls!" do theses people just stand around all day.
I need to stay out of the archers line of sight i thought as i walked up on top of one of the towers, "all of you get moving! what are you all doing?" ether they didn't here me or no one was listening to me because they weren't doing any better, while i was shouting at my soldiers trying to get them to do something useful i saw one of the warden mercenaries stepping out and taking a look around before running down the tower i was in and getting ready to fight, why do all the useful people cost money?
I noticed that some enemies were climbing up the wall across from the tower i was in, i ran down and found som grunts standing around doing nothing "all of you come with me now!" they looked at each there before looking back "but sir we need to reinforce the soldiers by the gate" i looked down by the gate and back "they have everything they need now come with me!" they hesitated before they agreed, we ran on top of the wall to the other side.
I had to fight a captain because my soldiers were dying like flies, it wasn't hard just a heavy top, faint from the right and a heavy left and execute "THAT is how it is done, you see?" however while i was showing these idiots how to fight the enemy had flanked us and archers had climbed the wall, i told them to keep them of the wall, i saw the warden from earlier running up to us from the stairs, we needed to kill the enemy that flanked us and "get those archers off my wall!".
I let my soldiers fight them occasionally i wud take a swing at the enemy, once they had been dealt with the warden ran over to the archers, he can deal with them "to the gate!" i shouted to the remaining soldiers.
Once we reached the gate I looked up to the warden and saw him strike the catapult firing it launching the archers and the catapult off the wall, but i had no time to stand around as the wall next to the gate fell and the enemy came rushing trough the breach, "get there leader Daubeny" I herd one of the enemy captains shout "no! defend me!" why can't my dumb soldiers listen to what i say?
As my soldier fought i cud hear the gate starting to break from the battering ram, and not long after the gate broke open, a few grunts stepped forward but were met with a swift end from Holden Cross "stop!" and they did, why are these idiots listening to him?, "Daubeny! Daubeny! show yourself!" dammit there is no escape now, i walked up to Holden seeing as there was no were for me to run, "these warriors don't have to die!" enough with the small talk "trial by combat! right now!" "What, fight you? that's not a trial. that's an execution" he really thinks i am that stupid, Holden looks behind him "then fight my second" I'm not going to risk my life here, i looked back to the warden from earlier "you! you will be my second" he sighed "all right then" ungrateful bastard you should consider this an honor.
They prepared themselves for there dual, Holden stepped up on a platform were he had a clear view of all of us, finally the fight began, my warden started with a light attack from the top but was blocked by there warden who tried a heavy right but was paired by my warden, i must say I'm impressed, my warden guard broke him and preformed a heavy right followed by a shoulder bash and a light combo, my warden had not been hit once but Holden seemed as calm as ever, there warden preformed a top heavy but my warden dodged to the left and followed by a zone attack, there warden is pathetic i'm glad i didn't waist my time with him, there warden tried a heavy right and a heavy left but my warden blocked both of them making him spend all of his stamina, what an idiot, my warden guard broke him and pushed him down and finished him with a heavy top, YES, my warden stabbed him in the chest and slowly pulled him off.
Now that we have won they will take their leave right?, Holden walked down from the platform and gave his pole axe to a captain and started walking towards me, what is he doing?, wen he got close i grabbed my sword out of panic "it will not do for a knight of the black stone legion to be defeated by a common mercenary" but we still won right?, he grabbed my sword i had no choice so i let go, he turned around and started walking to my warden "kneel" and my warden did as he said as Holden took of his helmet, what is he trying to do?, "for valor in battle"...no..."for honor in service" this is to much"i, Holden Cross, raise you"you can't be serious "stand, knight of the black stone legion" and the warden no longer mine did, ...unbelievable.
Holden gave the warden my sword and threw the wardens sword at my feet "were finished here" as Holden walked away the warden stood still "come on" and the warden took one last look at me before leaving, i cud do nothing but stand and watch them leave.
I took up the sword "i swear this black stone dogs, i will not yield until i have my revenge".
