Part 22.

Virgil's POV

Roman slammed the door shut and we both sat on the floor in silence. A minute or so passed before he scooted over to me and engulfed me in a hug. "You have no idea how much I missed you Anxiety," he sobbed into my shoulder.

We sat like this for a couple minutes. Roman hugging me and crying into my shoulder while I held him as if he would disappear. He pulled away from me and moved into another corner of the van, to give us both more space. Suddenly a man wearing all black crawled from the passenger seat and over towards me. He sat in front of me for a second, just looking at me before-

SLAP! "WHAT THE HELL WERE YOU THINKING!" I stayed still, shocked. The man was breathing heavily and just glaring at me. He then moved his hand up to his head and removed the balaclava from his face, revealing a very angry Patton. "Hey Pat, good to see you too." I tried to make light of the situation, even though they had just busted me out of prison and we were now speeding down the highway with cops chasing us. "WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT?!! DO YOU KNOW HOW WORRIED IVE BEEN?" Tears welled up in his eyes while I tried to think about what I had done to make him so mad. "I'm sorry?" Patton began to cry harder and flung himself at me, wrapping me in a tight embrace. "Don't ever do something so stupid again, got it?" I nodded and he pulled away from me.

BANG, a bullet ripped through the wall
BANG, a sharp pain went through my shoulder
BANG, someone screamed

The bullet ripped right through Patton, causing him to collapse on the ground. I tried to go to him, but my shoulder was hurting so bad and I was starting to get dizzy. I fell next to Patton, our blood mixing on the ground.

I looked up to see Roman kneeling over us both, tears streaming down his face as he yelled something. Our eyes locked and I smiled weakly at him. "I....l.love..yo...u."

And everything went black.
