Virgil's POV

I was sitting at lunch with Logan, De, Remy, and Patton when it hit me, literally. Remus came up behind me with a few of his other friends, who I haven't met, and poured milk on my head. Everyone at my table stopped talking and stared at us. I growled and glared at him, getting up.
"Virgil not here." De said, grabbing my arm. I glared at him then at Remus and his friends. I yanked my arm away.
"I'll be in the bathroom cleaning up." I muttered and hid my eyes, which were pure black. I ran out of the cafeteria.
I stared in the mirror while milk dripped down my face. I started breathing heavily and backed away from the counter. I slid down the wall and curled up in a ball. Someone must of come in because next thing I know, I'm being pet on the head and told everything was okay. I started crying and shoved my face in their chest. I gripped their jacket which felt like a football... Oh my God. Roman? I calmed down a bit and looked up. Roman was sitting on the floor next to me, hugging me and petting my head.
"Hey Hot Topic. You okay now?" I nodded quietly and sniffed. "What's wrong with your eyes?" He mumbled and put his hand on my face. My eyes widened and I wiggled out of his arms. I backed away and my eyes turned normal. "A vampire?" He held his hand out and slowly reached for my face again. I flinched slightly when he finally got my face in his hand. He rubbed my cheek softly and I smiled a bit. "Let's wash the milk out of your hair, yeah?" I nodded and stood up. There's something about him I don't understand. He's so nice yet I don't know how to feel about him. He walked me over to a sink and turned on the water. I dipped my head under as he got the milk out. He scrubbed my head lightly with his fingers and soon finished getting most of it out.
"Thanks Princy." I mumbled. He smiled and nodded. He took off his jacket and put it over my shoulders. "What's this for?"
"You looked cold. Plus, there's milk on you." He. laughed. "Just give it back to me tomorrow." I nodded and he walked towards the door before stopping. "My phone number is in the right pocket." Then he walked out. I put my hand in the pocket and pulled out a little piece of paper. Written on it was 'call me if you need anything Hot Topic. xoxo ###-###-####'. I put it away and pulled the sleeves onto my arms. He had long arms so they went over my hands. I didn't mind and zipped the jacket up. I snuggled into it and smiled. He had a calming scent. It was a mixture of the ocean and a flower. I walked out of the bathroom and went back to the cafeteria. Remus was getting yelled at by a teacher. De was sitting at the table with a hand on his face. Patton looked confused as hell but also really angry. Logan was keeping Remy and Patton seated, clearly annoyed and angry. I sat down with them and they calmed down a bit.
"Virge are you alright?" Patton asked, clearly worried more than confused and angry. I nodded and looked at Remy. His eyes were glowing a darker shade of purple than normal. I pulled him down by the ear.
"Eyes." I whispered in his ear. Patton looked at Remy's sunglasses that were on his face right after that. He quickly looked away after he noticed I was staring at him with a look of questioning. Remy's eyes stopped glowing and he looked at me. I smiled and he just frowned.
"Where'd you get that jacket?" Remy growled.
"Roman. Why?" I raised an eyebrow. His eyes start glowing again and he keeps growling. "Rem? What's wrong?"
"Nothing. Just don't wear that tomorrow." He grumbled and got up. He walked out of the cafeteria and disappeared. I looked at the other three on the other side of the table.
"Remy didn't tell you did he?" Patton mumbled.
"Tell me what?" Logan sighed and pushed up his glasses.
"Remy and Roman used to be good friends a while back. They had a bad falling out over the summer. They haven't talked since." Logan explained. I nodded, finally piecing it together. That's why Roman doesn't sit here at lunch. That's why Remy goes silent when Roman's in the room. That's why Roman and Remy don't talk to or stand near each other. I frowned and looked at the table. De got up and sat next to me. I played with Roman's jacket's sleeve and quietly ate the rest of my food.

~Time Skip~

Life was hell when I got home.
Remus had blamed me for something. Mom beat the shit out of me. De had taken a hit or two to make Mom stop and told her what Remus did at lunch. Her response was, "No! Remus is a great child compared to you two! Virgil is the worst." Then she went to go drink. De stayed with me for a bit before leaving. I got up from the floor and slowly walked to my room.
I took out Roman's number from his jacket pocket and put it in my phone. I texted him and a the others. He was the only one who answered me.
