"Hey, come on in....What took you so long?", Maryse gestured for them to come inside. She looked really happy.

"Uhh..we..we..", Forth was unsure of what to say..'Damn! I should have thought of an excuse'

"We stopped by for a..umm.. drink..", Phana said, a bit nervous, thinking 'And here comes the lecture..'

"Ooh, that's fine.. You should have a little fun once in a while..", Maryse said, winking at the end.

"Huh"

All the three siblings had their jaws dropped at their mother's little gesture. Their brains couldn't comprehend what was happening.

"Hey! What's that look on your faces....Come on in.. Somebody's waiting for you..", Maryse lead the way to her office. The trio following her in a daze.

"SURPRISE!"

"P'LYDIA!!!!" When did you come? Why didn't you tell us? Oh God! I am so happy to see you. How are you P'? How's...."

"Anna! Let her speak.." Maryse said, chuckling at her daughter's excitement.

Lydia wrapped her arms around the excited girl and pulled her in for a tight hug.."I missed you, Nong"

"Only her?", Phana pretended to look hurt.

"Of course not, you giant, I missed you too.. Now stop sulking and come here"

Phana hugged her tightly. He really missed having his best friend around.

"Ai Pha! I know you missed me" 'even though you'd never say it'.. "but can you please release me. I gotta meet Forth too, you know..", Lydia whispered, caressing her best friend's back softly. She was one of the few who knew that the cold-looking Phana Kongthanin was actually pretty warm on the inside and could go to any length for the ones he truly cared for.

"Hey handsome! Miss me..", she said with a wink, before putting her arms around Forth for a hug.

"I did, beautiful" Forth replied, hugging her back.

"Okay, kids.. I'll leave you all to catch up, but don't stay up too late. Let Lydia rest too..She had a long flight..Good night", Maryse took her leave.

"So, that's why she was all smiley....huh..You are her favorite after all", Phana said in a matter-of-fact voice.

"Yup! I definitely am....So what were you guys doing tonight anyway? You know, she called you like 5 times and you didn't pick up Ai'Forth.. That is sooo.. unlike you..", Lydia said while plopping herself down on one of the couches..She had a reallllly long flight.

"Well, we went out for a mission..And stopped by a club for a few drinks.. That's all ..", Forth said, sitting down on the other couch. He felt tired too.

"That's not all P'..We met Downworlders!!..They were sooo good-looking....And P'Beam..He is sooo cool. He created a portal for us to reach here quickly..Oh! He's a Warlock and his friend, P'Ming is a vampire.. Isn't that cool?...", Anna was gushing out with excitement.

"Relax, Nong.. She's not going anywhere. You can tell her the details tomorrow..She must be exhausted. Let her rest for a while", Forth cut in. He knew his sister wouldn't stop unless someone told her to. She looooved to talk. Also, he could feel his heart beating faster on hearing Beam's name and he was afraid the others would notice that.

"It's okay, Ai'Forth..I don't mind.."

"No! Forth's right, Shorty..You need to rest", Phana said in a serious tone.

"Okay! You giant....I am going to sleep..Drop off my bags in my room..Good night, guys.."

"Good night P's..I am going too", Anna left the room, following Lydia.

"Hey! Where are you going? Lydia told you to take her bags to her room, didn't she..Go do your job, Ai'Pha..", Forth mocked his Parabatai, before running away towards his room.

"You...", Phana tried to catch Forth but he had already run away.."Tsk...these kids.."

He looked at the bags in the corner and sighed.
