Chapter 3:

It was exactly lunch when the kind nurse let me off. She said so I can grab a bite before I went home. I'm really not sure if I fancy food right now. Or even go home early. I'm sure dad and Tina aren't home yet. When they see me home early they'll definitely scold me.

I decided to go the cafeteria to at least see my friends. I received a text from Chris that Rey will also join us. Rey Aragon is my other boy bestfriend. Actually their three. Chris, Rey and Earl Crame. Earl kinda left us behind because as we see since highschool he's too busy for ‘girls’. He just left us.

Oh please! He left ‘you’.

I don't have a few girl friends here because for me boys are much better as friends. Although I'm kinda having second thoughts if I go with them. Chris is their. Which literally smells trouble for me.

Or . . . I stop by only a few minutes and then leave saying I have a broken rib. Its literally obvious. I have to go to my doctor. I think they need to put a cast or cement or something on it. When I move it just hurts.

I arrived at the cafeteria. Everyone is practically staring at me. I can't blame them I look like a mummy. Except the bandages are only on my wrists and ribs. I even walk oddly.

I immediately spotted Rey and Chris chatting on a table. God how I missed this boys. I haven't seen them since graduation.

“Oh my god. Tori! Is that you?” Rey exclaimed.

I nodded with a smile while walking towards them. Without a word both of them got on their feet and run towards me. I was surprised when they both gave me a bear hug at the same time. Even though it hurt I was so happy when I see them. It has been three years. Three horrible years without them.

“Guys. Guys. You can let go now” I smiled. They both regain their posture and looked back at me.

“Is that really you?” Rey asked.

“Yeah” I simply responded while looking at my boots.

“You changed a lot” Chris now talked.

“Yeah”

“Come on let's take a seat and catch up!” Chris suggested. I now have the courage to  look at them.

“I can't”

“What? Why not?” Rey asked once again.

“As you can see I have a broken rib. I need to go home”

“Why? What happened?” it was Chris' time to speak now.

Quick. Think of an excuse Tori! Quick. Think. Think. “Ahhmm. I fell”

“You fell” Rey repeated sounding unconvinced at my excuse.

“I think that's so much injury for a simple off-balance. Are you sure you fell? Or did someone did to you that?” Chris raised an eyebrow.

As much as I want to tell him. I really got to say no. I just want both of them to be happy.

Are you sure? Or are you just scared of his freaking girlfriend?!

Both. But I just don't want any trouble. “Nothing. I'm just clumsy that's all. Listen. I really need to go. I'll catch up with you. . . someday” I was about to go away when I felt I tight grip on my wrist. Shit. My cuts.

“I'll call you okay? Or we can come over to-” I didn't even let him finish his sentence.

“No! No” I exclaimed. “That wouldn't be necessary” I mumbled.
