District Court | Courtoom no. 3"After the recess we have concluded the testimony of Shelly De Killer. Now, prosecution. Do you have any more witnesses?"
Franziska and I simply responded with nods. The judge then nodded to himself despite having no official answer from our mouths, he pounded his gavel and said, "Prosecution, you may now call your next witness."
"The prosecution calls Kay Faraday to the stand." I exclaimed to the court and the members of the court ended up with chatter.
"Objection!" Professor Means quickly responded pointing his finger towards the prosecutor's bench and he asked, "How would this be relevant to the case?"
I slowly took a few steps nearing the defense bench and explained, "It will be relevant once the witness sheds the truth. The prosecution thinks that the kidnapping of Kay Faraday in the hotel's stock room is somehow involved in this murder or so at least the witness that will be testifying could shed light on us on what happened and what is the situation of that room which we concluded as the escape route of the defendant after the vile deed." Turning around and putting myself on the center of the courtroom as I added my question, "And you are the one that asked about her in the first place, didn't you?" I turn my head towards Professor Means and he clenched his teeth, "Yes, I did."
"No objections? Alright, thank you defense." I told him and he quickly looked away from me as the judge nodded, pounding on gavel and its sound echoing from the sound wood.
"Please state your name and occupation, witness."
"Kay Faraday, a law student and Mr. Miles Edgeworth's assisstant."
I shot her a glance, raising my eyebrow, and she chuckled, "Only a law student." I nodded and I spoke, "Defense, the witness is yours."
Work with me here, Professor.
I silently thought.
Franziska let out a "Hmph." As she crosses both of her arms, she said, "He better do this properly or this case will descend to utter trash."
"Alright, Kay Faraday.. Can you please state the scenarios that happened when you were kidnapped?"
"I was in the stock room, Shelly De Killer simply pulled me in there because she wanted to talk to me about something. When I turned my back to fix my dress, she disappeared and I was struck on the back of my head, I tried to elbow the intruder but my vision went fuzzy and I fell unconscious."
Her testimony spare no lies yet a little vague. She's hiding information we must not know about or the least, the court must not know about.
"What is it that you have talked about, if I may ask?"
"I'm sorry, I promised that I won't tell anyone." Professor Means simply nodded.
Is he not going to press her further?
"Do you think she left the door?" Kay responded with a shake of her head, "The door was completely closed once I turned around. Yet behind me, someone hit me on the back of my head. It was a real pain, it gave me bulging bump."
"How did you fought back?"
"I think I ripped up her clothes and damaged her arm a little bit."
