I woke up, feeling the sun hit my face. It’s already morning, thank God, yes God, our lord and savior, that I don’t have school today.

I got up, getting dressed, brushing my hair and teeth. Wait. Last night. Shou was here! Is he still here? I can make breakfast for him! I’ll put my cooking skills to the test once again!

I stepped out of my room, silently hurrying to my living room. He wasn’t there? Is this another ‘prank bro' of his? Maybe he had things to do. I went to the kitchen, fixing myself a bowl of cereal, I come across a green sticky note.

‘I had to go before my dad found out where I was, the couch was comfy though, but the ramen upset my stomach lol, I do owe you something for this though, plan to see me again soon, minerwife (Y/N)’

I smiled at the note, feeling something weird in my chest. I need to eat, that’s all. I got breakfast ready, getting ready for my phone to buzz.

Mob goes to work soon, right? He’ll be calling me anytime now to protect Ritsu. Little did I know, that buzz wasn’t going to come.

He really forgot about me, huh. I sweat. This is going to be a long day.

-Time Skip-

Instead of running to their house, I decided to just walk it out. I can’t use my abilities for every little thing I do. I want to be normal.

I walked down the bright alley, minding my own business till a lady stopped me. She was wearing…a smily mask sort of thing?

“Haha, you look sad, are you not happy? I can show you how to change, how to be happy!“ She shouts, dancing around.

She’s either a crackhead on the streets, drunk, or in some sort of weird thing. Like a cult. I don’t really trust strangers. I can sense a small ounce of power coming from her though…like a spirit’s?

Maybe I’m just wrong. “No, I’m sorry, but I’m already pretty happy, have a nice time though.“ I walked away from the suspicious woman. People these days.

I finally arrived at Ritsu's house. I can’t knock on the door, he told me he didn’t want his parents finding out about me, I completely understand why.

I sped up the wall, knocking on his window. He walked over, looking odd. His lights are all out too. Is something wrong here? “Ritsu, I’m here to protect you again.“ I stated, holding on to dear life.

He gave me a straight, cold face, opening his window. “Yeah. Sorry. I don’t think today is the day for that, (Y/N).“ He put his head slightly down, trying to hide something on his desk. It failed, showing me a spoon dropping on the floor.

A spoon? With nothing else? What’s up with him?

“What is the matter, Ritsu? You seem saddened, how about you try something like church-“

“I’m not sad. Just frustrated right now. Please go, I’ll see you at school tomorrow.“ He turned away from me, picking his spoon back up.

“Ritsu, you can tell me if something is wrong, I can help you.“ He rolled his eyes, placing his spoon back to where it was.

“It’ll help and make me feel better if you just go, okay? Leave me alone right now.“ I was slightly shocked. Maybe he woke up on the wrong side of the bed. I hope he feels better later.

I’ll just watch his house from afar. I listened to him, nodding. I jumped out the window, running out of his sight. Something is wrong with Ritsu, but if he does anything drastic to himself, I’ll be able to see.

I sat on the grass, trying to make some fun for myself. Maybe Ritsu doesn’t need protecting today… it looked like he was doing something important.

I want to call Shou, but I might be bothering him, I’m just bored out of my mind. Plus, I have to have my focus on Ritsu. I did eat cereal a while ago, but it’s lunch time now.

I’ll just be gone for a second, Ritsu. Hopefully everything stays fine. I ran as fast as possible to the a small restaurant, I quickly looked at the menu. It’s Mobdonalds, this is good enough. I went inside of the kitchen part, grabbing (favorite thing from McDonalds I mean c’mon diabetes is life), and paying on the counter.

The line was too long to just wait. My legs went to move, but something pulled on my hoodie.

“Ay? Wifey, what are you doing at Mobdonalds on this fine evening? Oh right, I forgot that you’re not the best at cooking-“

“Shou! I would love to talk to you, but I can’t right now. I have some protecting duty I have to do!“ I bowed. He raised a brow.

“Again? Is it that one friend of yours from the other day? What’s his deal-“

I cut him off again, patting my feet on the ground. “Yes, I swore to keep him safe, no matter what, so if you excuse me-“

He crossed his arms. “I’m sure he’ll be fine, (Y/N), he was fine without you yesterday, right? Plus, he needs to learn that you have other things to do.“ He grabbed my hand, taking me to the table.

EH?! Shou, now is not the time for games!

“Shou, although he didn’t want me there, I still need to pro-“

He made an annoyed humming noise. “So he doesn’t even want you there and you waste your time on him, you have a life too, you know. Don’t waste it watching someone who shouldn’t matter-“

What? Shouldn’t matter? I tried to kill him. He does matter. What’s wrong with Shou?

“He does matter, Shou. I have hurt him and his brother. I want to repay them in the nicest way possible. Now, I must go.“

“I just don’t want you to beat yourself over that guy, okay? If I ever catch you risking yourself for him, it’ll make me disappointed. So please, be careful? I’m serious with you, not that epic gamer bull. I want you to be safe.“

Oh. So he does care. I feel bad, should I eat with him? But Ritsu… who knows what he could be doing right now. Everything seemed wrong when I saw him. I just have to go with my gut.

“Shou, thank you. Just know that I’ll keep safe for you. In a non epic gamer way like you said. You’re an amazing friend.“ I smiled, leaving him by himself at the table.

I’m sorry Shou, I’ll find time for you later.
