4. Protection

I ran out of Shou's window, speeding down the building. School shouldn’t be over yet. Right..? I have to apologize.

I hope he understands along with his brother..and the teacher..and the whole school.. I messed up.

I made it to the school, seeing both Kageyama brothers walking together. Well, I didn’t expect them to be in school any longer. I stopped the both of them, stepping in front of them.

The younger Kageyama backed up a little, while Bowl cut Kageyama stepped up to me. He looked a bit scared. I bowed.

“I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have done that. I know you might not want to hear a sorry, but I really am. I don’t want to be like that anymore. I owe you my life for making me realize that I’m not the best in the world, people are better than me. Please forgive me.“

“O-owe us your life..?! I should apologize… I didn’t want to hit you that far… let alone hit you…” the older one bowed, muttering many sorry’s.

I shook my head. “No. It’s alright. It only hurt a bit, I’m fine now. Just know that I will protect you both at all costs, just to show my appreciation.“

Older Kageyama kept shaking his head, but it doesn’t matter what he says. I will protect them now. It’s the nicest thing I can do for the them.

“You don’t need to protect us, (L/N). Brother here is strong enough to protect himself.“ The younger one lightly smiled. Bowl cut Kageyama agreed with him.

I nodded. “Okay. I won’t protect him. I’ll protect you instead.“

“What?!“

“You don’t have psychic abilities. You can’t defend yourself that much either, your brother may be stronger than me, but if he’s out of your sight when you get hurt, there’s nothing you can do. I’ll keep you safe.“ I bowed again.

“You don’t really have to do that, I’m fine-“

“No. I made my decision. I’ll keep you safe whenever your brother can’t.“

The older Kageyama looked at him. “Ritsu.. Maybe it will be a good idea.. I wouldn’t want you getting hurt if I’m gone, working..“

Young Kageyama wiped some nervous sweat off his face. “I mean.. If you really want to, I doubt anything will happen to me though.“

“It’s settled then. Older Kageyama, I still owe you, and younger Kageyama, I’ll protect you with my life.“

“Y-you can just call me M-mob, you also don’t need to owe me anything..-“

“Okay. Mob. I owe you.“

“I-I..alright..“

His phone rang, stopping me from asking if he needs anything. “Master?...oh..alright..I’ll be there soon..bye..“

There was some silence. “I have to go see my master..bye (L/N), bye Ritsu.“ He started walking away from the two of us.

“Kageyama-“

“You might as well just call me Ritsu if you’re going to stalk me for the rest of your life.“ He sighed, slinging his bag over his arm.

“Ritsu. I do not mean to be bothersome to you. I can just watch you from afar if you would like me to. Just until Mob is back.“

“You did just try to kill me. You could be lying to do it again without my brother here.“ He walked faster.

“No. You have my word. I’m sorry for that. I promise.“
