Y/n has been born and raised in London. As she grew up, life has been quite simple and normal. It still is, but times have changed. Not too long ago, a new family moved right across the street. A mother, a father (as far as she knew), a boy younger than her, and boy Y/n's age. Being the normal teenager she is, Y/n was in her room scrolling through her phone since she has nothing else to do over the summer.

"Y/n!" her mum called.

Y/n dragged her feet from her room to her mum, "Yes?"

"Let's go see the neighbors."

A confused look was on her face, "The neighbors? When did you start talking to people."

"When I found a boy around your age. I don't want my daughter to be a hermit forever," her mother sassed.

"Since when did you care about me getting a boyfriend?"

"It's not about you getting a boyfriend. It's about you getting at least one friend instead being stuck in your room all summer. Now, get yourself together, and let's go."

Y/n groans, "Fine."

She goes back, but before she heads into her room, she turns around for a quick moment, "When did you meet them?"

"I met them a little bit after they moved in. I didn't want to seem like a rude, unwelcoming neighbor."

Y/n nods her head before going to get ready. She wasn't aiming to impress any of them, so she threw on simple clothing. It was only a comfy pair of gray sweatpants and a loose white shirt. She even put on a jean jacket to make her seem a bit decent. Her y/h/c hair was down as she took one more glance in the mirror before leaving her room. Y/n went downstairs and slipped on white converse.

"Okay mum! I'm ready when you are!" y/n yelled to her.

Her mother stands up, "I've been waiting for you. Now, let's go, and before you even try to pull something, don't even think about it."

Y/n sighed, "Fine. Let's just get this over with."

Y/n's mum had a satisfied smile on her face as she walked out the door. Y/n slouched behind her, not wanting to go. Y/n's mom locked the door before walking across the street. Once they were right in front of the door, her mother knocked on it. It took a couple of seconds before the door was opened by a two people. Y/n's mum smiled and opened her arms to hug them.

"Ted, Karen, how are you?" her mother said with her thick english accent, hugging the both of them.

The mother replied, "We're doing well! I see you brought your young one here. Hello! I'm Mrs. Baker, but you can call me Karen."

Karen held out her hand, and y/n shook her hand with a smile. Even if she didn't want to be here, she didn't want to be rude.

"Lovely to meet you," y/n said. She turned to the father, offering her hand. "It's nice to meet you as well, Mr. Baker."

The father shook y/n's hand, "Please call me Ted."

Y/n nodded.

"Well, come inside. I'm sure the boys would be happy to meet you," Karen said as she held the door for y/n and her mother.

Y/n and her mother walked in. Y/n looked around. The inside of the house was quite fancy compared to the other houses on the block. It was a nice neighborhood filled with similar houses. The only difference was the inside. Karen and Ted's house was very neat, fancy, and comforting. The house was lovely and very neat for just moving in. Not many boxes were left. Her thought were interrupted when her mother held her close.
