It was a late October afternoon Ellie Kate was keeping up with her tables. She had a long day of classes at NYU and now she was working her shift. She didn't get paid much cause she was always dropping things.
She heard the bell ring as the door open. She saw a tall dark haired man with a nice suit and a briefcase. He sat down at a booth in a section.
She swallowed hard then walked over. "Hi Im Ellie Kate what can I get for you?" She said
"Hi..I would like a cup of coffee and a slice of apple pie." Bucky said
She wrote it down "okay I'll bring it right out."
She went to the counter she was shaking when her co worker Olivia came over to her. "Hey you alright." She said
"Can you take this to my table 5 please?" Ellie Kate said
"Sure." Olivia said
Olivia took the slice of pie and coffee to Bucky's table. Bucky kept wanting refills as he read over contracts. Olivia's shift was over before Ellie Kate's.
She went to check on Bucky after Olivia left. "Can I get another refill?" Bucky said
"Yeah." She said
She went over to the counter she picked up the fresh pot. She took a deep breathe then carefully walked to the table.
She started to pour the coffee and it went fine. Thirty minutes later he asked for more. She did it fine again as the night continued to go on.
The last cup he asked for she dropped his cup and spilled all over his papers and his lap.
"What the hell?? These are important fucking papers. Let me speak to your manager!" Bucky yelled.
Ellie Kate gasped "Im so sorry" she kept repeating as she tried to clean it up.
Her manager came running out. Ellie Kate walked away defeated. John her manager and Bucky had a very heated discussion. That ultimately had John walk over to her "Im sorry Ellie you are fired."
She started to cry and slammed her tips and apron down and grabbed her back pack. She ran out crying as she walked home to her small studio apartment.
She didn't notice that Bucky in the back of his town car had followed her home. He had his driver take him home after he made sure she made it home safe.
