Chapter 8: Positive

The morning of Bucky's birthday they were eating breakfast. She was already feeling nauseous when she went to pee. Judy had made pancakes bacon and sausage links. As she was getting ready all of it didn't settle well in her stomach.

She dropped her curling iron and puked in her bathroom. Judy heard her "Ms Baylor." As went running up the stairs.

Bucky was tying his tie when he heard Judy. He went running up the stairs to find Ellie hugging the toilet. "Elliana what happened?" He said

"I don't know..I felt sick then it all came up." She whispered.

He called Cooper "Hey Cooper get here quickly I need to get Elliana to the doctor." He said then called Connie to make sure he had time.

They got Dr Lange's office he said "Hope please tell me that she isn't contagious sick." He said

"She tested negative for the flu and strep. She doesn't have a fever and its not food poisoning. So lets draw some blood.' Hope said

Elliana laid back on the exam table she fell asleep while they waited. Hope came back in with Natasha "Why are you here Natasha?" Bucky said as he woke up Ellie.

"Because she is pregnant. Her blood work came back her HCg levels were elevated which is why Hope paged me." Natasha said

"She is on birth control.." he said

"And birth control can fail. Come on Buck we all know its not all 100 percent effective." Natasha said

"Do a ultrasound.." Bucky said

They went up to Natasha's office she started up the ultrasound. She put the gel on Ellie's stomach. She turned on the sound on the tv. She started to move the wand around.

"Happy Birthday Barnes..you have yourself a baby on the way. She is six and half weeks along. She is due in October." Natasha said

Bucky swallowed hard "this can't be happening." He whispered.

Ellie bit her lip Natasha helped her up. She cleaned up her stomach she gave Ellie the copies for them to keep. They got into the car it was quiet again.

"My mom can't know Ellie. Maybe it will be best if um you go back to North Carolina. I will send you money but babies have never been in the cards for me. I dont want to be tied down." He said when they got back to the office.

She looked at him "What?"

"Elliana I dont want babies or marriage. I have a business to run I dont have time for a family." He said

She started to cry "Elliana I..Im sorry." He said

She walked away from him "Ellie." He said

"I dont want to go back home and raise him or her alone." She said

"Elliana this isnt what I want. Ive had a plan my whole life. Babies marriage being tied down isnt something I wanted. Yes my friends have that life but it was never what I wanted. Its why I dont visit my parents cause they keep shoving it down my throat. I worked hard to build my company from the ground up and I will continue to do that. Love isn't something I wanted." He said

She looked down "But I love you but its clear now that my heart was always going to be broken wasnt it. Eventually you were going to toss me to the side." She said

"Elliana ..Im sorry." He said

She picked up her back pack and walked out of the office. She had Noah take her back to the penthouse. She found her two big suitcases and started to pack her stuff leaving everything he bought her.

She bought herself a plane ticket. She dragged everything behind her. She told Judy goodbye and Noah dropped her off at the airport. Bucky came home an hour later. He went upstairs to find her laptop and phone he bought her laying on the bed.

He went into her closet to find she had left everything else but her stuff. That night he went out and got drunk at a bar and brought home a girl. He ate breakfast alone after he made the girl go home.
