Chapter Five: C'mon! Just Kiss Me!

(Tuesday afternoon)

Momo groaned loudly as she entered her room and threw her stuff on her bed. Of all the people in the class who could've been Juliet, why did they have to choose her!? For one thing, she didn't even consider herself to be that beautiful. She was just average, so why not choose someone like Ochako, who was exceptionally cute? Or Mina who was absolutely beautiful? Not to mention that public speaking wasn't her strong suit. She felt like she was being set up for disaster!

Then there was the little issue of her and Todoroki. It was already hard enough to hide her feelings for him for three years, and now she has to kiss him and play a romantic role? This might just push her over the edge! And what would happen when Todoroki found out how she felt?

What if he gets freaked out by playing two people in love and doesn't want to be friends anymore? Or he might just flat out ask for a change in roles...That might actually be preferable. And on top of that I have to pretend I don't like him? Even after I kiss him?

Momo pulled her thoughts away from Todoroki just long enough to check her phone which had buzzed with a text. It was from Mina:

Mina: Hey Yaomomo wanna come over and run lines?

It was, in fact, the last possible thing Momo wanted to do at that moment, but after a while she sighed and replied,

Me: Sure, I'll be over in five minutes.

She figured that she wasn't getting much more out of the night and Mina was just trying to be helpful. Plus, it wouldn't hurt to get an early start and Mina was never bad company.

She quickly changed out of her uniform into a pair of shorts and an oversized sweater before grabbing her keys, phone, and script and heading down to Mina's room. Momo found over sized clothing one of the simplest pleasures in life, one of the reasons she disliked her unfortunately necessary costume, which clung to her curves like latex.

She made her way quickly to Mina's room on the fourth floor. Stopping before it, she pulled out her script before swiftly rapping on her door. There was a loud bump and then a string of curses the sounded through the solid wood door before it finally swung open to reveal a grinning Mina.

"Hey!" She said cheerily.

"Are you okay? That sounded...rough." Momo chuckled in response, earning a small laugh from Mina as well.

"C'mon in. I got some snacks from the vending machine for us." As Momo stepped into the room, she noted the large, assorted pile of candy, chips, and various other junk foods laying on the floor, some scattered onto her bed. "Some" was an understatement. Momo laughed.

"We'll never go hungry!"

"Okay, fine! I got a lot of snacks! But hey, all I had for dinner was white rice." They sat themselves on Mina's pink bedspread. Her room, Momo noticed, had changed quite a lot since their first year. The over abundance of leopard print patterns was now replaced with various shades of pink and she had managed to keep her cleanliness to a somewhat civilized level. "Okay, I think," Her smile was too mischievous for Momo's liking, which caused the raven-haired girl to look at her suspiciously. "We should start with act one, scene five."

Momo gasped dramatically in mock surprise, spurring a wave of giggles from Mina. She saw it coming a mile away. No wonder Mina would want to practice Romeo and Juliet's first kiss.

"Okay, I'll read Romeo, and you read Juliet." Mina suggested with a satisfied smile after her giggling had subsided.

"Okay, but afterwards we need to have a discussion about class this morning."
