It's the night after Olivia's birthday party and I hear a noise. I woke up startled. I look down at my feet and I see
Jesse: "Reuben? It's 4am. What are you doing awake?"
He whimpered at me.
Jesse: "What's wrong, buddy?"
He came closer and showed me his eye.
Jesse: "Is it sore?"
He nodded. I examined it closely.
Jesse: "It looks like it's a bit swollen. I'll make an appointment to the vet in the..."
Before I could finish, Reuben squealed and hid under the blanket.
Jesse: "Reuben! What's wrong?"
He was whimpering and shaking his head.
Jesse: "Don't be scared. It's just a check-up. I'll be right there with you."
He slowly came out from under the blanket.
Jesse: "I know. How about we take our friends. We can all be there for you."
Reuben nodded his head slowly. He was still very scared. He hated the vet.
Jesse: "I'll call them and make an appointment."
I called the vet and all our friends. It was still very early so we went back to sleep. Well, I went back to sleep.
