Falling from reality (Kingdom Hearts oneshots)

Just a Nightmare (Ienzo x reader)

This is going to be very short-long story so hope you don't mind.

   Ienzo's eyes shot open and sat up. He breathes heavily from his nightmare that has been haunting him when he was a child. It's been long gone after being re-completed but his nightmares kept up. He sighs and thought of getting back to bed, but he can't. Not without you to walk through the darkness of his past.

He gets out of bed and head towards your room. He sees you in bed with your back facing him. He raises the sheets and lay next to you. You feel his body shifting and you turn to him. "Ienzo?" You muffled.

"Bad dream." Ienzo replied as he held you close to him. "Shh. It's okay. I'm here." He hugs you back and you feel his face being buried into your neck. "There, there. Try to get some sleep Ienzo. You've worked well." I petted his head and drifted back to sleep.

The next morning the sunlight creaks in your window and you open your eyes. Ienzo was still in bed and asleep. You run your hands through his hair and kissed his forehead. "Ienzo dear. It's morning." He squinted and sit up. "Did you have a good sleep?"

He looks at you still half asleep, then smiled. "Very."

"Good. But no more staring. We got work to do." I get up and change in another room.

Walking through the hallway with stacked documents in hand, I hear a close conversation about something. I look in the corner of my eyes to see Ienzo and Even. They were talking about something in a hoarsely conversation. I decided to walk over to them but-

"(Y/N) where are those reports I asked for?" It turn around and see Ansem the wise. "Oh! They're right here Ansem." I hold them out as I follow him to his office. It was a long talk with him and my assignments that needs to be done.

Now is my lunch break, I sit on my desk as I begin eating my lunch. Luckily, Ienzo just started his break too and eat next to me. I was reading one of my reports with my fork in my other hand. Waving the fork of a sliced carrot, Ienzo grabs my wrist and steals the carrot out of my fork.

"H-hey! I was about to eat that!" I said pouting my cheeks. "Well you were off guard. That is what happens if you're focusing too much on work." Ienzo said. I huffed and put down my papers and began eating. Ienzo has been very hesitant and quiet lately. He would just ramble about his reports by now.

"Is it the dream?" I asked him. He flinched and sighs sadly. I came closer and rub his arm. "Hey it's okay. What's between you and the organization, it's in the past." I said to him. "I know. It's just. I feel so bad leaving you behind after that incident. You were away for some long I almost forgot about you when I joined." He rambled. I kissed his forehead as he grabs my waist for a hug.

"I'm so, so sorry." He sobbed. I hush him softly as I pet his hair once more. Once he's finished, he let's go of me and clears his throat. "I-I should get back to work. Thank you (Y/N)." He bows as I hummed. Once he's away, I began to feel my heated cheeks and squealed silently.

All day was just doing some of Ansem's code. It's pretty late, almost daybreak. I was packing for the day till Ienzo suddenly walks up to me and grabs my arm.

"Ienzo?" He take you down the hallways leaving you agape in your mouth and your heart pounding. He takes you up to the rooftop to be introduced to a beautiful sky. A bluish mix in red making it feel like an ombré color covering the atmosphere.

You were then brought back to reality of Ienzo leaning towards the end. Sitting next to him as he stays put leaning than sitting, you both watch the horizon and atmosphere change.

"Is this what you want me to show you?"

"Actually there will be a meteor shower coming in view here. But I thought that we can watch dusk fall before it begins." Ienzo responded.

"How considerate. I always love those two things." You lower your gaze to him.

"Especially when I'm with the more special person in the world."
