The bus travelled smoothly, but even the soft path was too much for Garrett's relentless headache. He wore sunglasses despite not being exposed to the harsh rays. He stayed in the back of the bus with Melissa, where the two usually caught up socially rather than professionally.

"I think you have a problem," Melissa said with a half laugh.

"What do you mean?"

"You sleep with a different girl every night, and the next day you can barely keep your eyes open. Garrett I can smell the exact brand of alcohol from over here."

"I'm fine I'm fine. This is the life of a rock star love. Besides, if you can pinpoint the exact brand of alcohol there's a problem with you, not me."

He wasn't concerned, nor did he care to spend any more time debating this with her. He quickly changed the subject.

"So what's on the schedule this week mom?" Garrett said with a light laugh.

"Well kiddo," she joked, "you start the week in D.C., the next night you're in Philadelphia, the next New York. While you're there, you're playing at a charity event. Then we're flying out to L.A."

"Wait what?" Garret was confused.

"We're flying out to L.A., did I stutter?" She asked teasingly.

"No,no. I'm playing at a... charity?"

"Yes, it will be good for you. There will be press, news channels, news papers, and maybe you'll even find a sense of self worth instead of another bottle of hard liquor." She laughed, but she believed it.

"Oh whatever, as long as there will be women there."
