Chapter 1

The sky was filled with an eerie color of red as the moon shined the color of blood. I hugged my body to get a sense of comfort, as I felt a shiver down my spine. I jumped when I heard a wolf howling in the distance along with laughing. The dirt below me felt as if it were alive. I looked around to see if there was anybody, but there was only trees for miles.

5 hours earlier...

"Daphne, I told you that you can't be trapped in your room all day.. Look, I know it's hard for you today, but you need to stop being so depressed. It's been 4 months you know?" Adeline came over to my desk and took the ice cream tub and lifted my head from where they were buried in my arms.

All I said in response was a mixture of "Ugghs" and a moan. I felt cold all of a sudden as my soft blanket that covered all of my body got ripped off of me by my best friend.

"Come on! Your okay... Here we go!" She said as she tried to stand me up from the chair I was sitting in for over 6 hours.

Today was my ex boyfriend and I's 2 year anniversary. I found out 4 months ago that my first kiss, first lover and first boyfriend, cheated on me.

I know it's "lame" to still be moping about that son of a bitch, but he was the first for me in everything. That's why, for the last 24 hours, I've been eating ice cream and watching sad movies.

"Ok. Phew, you are heavy when you put dead weight..." Adeline said as she dramatically panted. "So, today let's go to a party yeah? Let's do some cliche shit like kissing other guys and 'drinking the night away'. Like what they do in movies, and who knows you might even get laid by a hot guy." She didn't wait for a response as she just walked to my closet and started to look for clothes.

"Adeline, I don't feel like partying... You know that I'm not the outgoing type. Plus I don't want to kiss anyone yet." My voice came out horse and tired as I closed my eyes and tried to forget about him.

"C'mon, let's go for 5 minutes and if your not enjoying it, let's go home." She turned around and put her hands on her hips. When she does that pose, you know she won't give up.

"Fine, You win. But 5 minutes and I'm going home." The chair creaked a bit as I got off the chair. "Whose house is the party at?" My hands went through the dresses hung on my rack as I tried looking for a party fit dress.

"Uhhh it's at Mason's..." Adeline was now in the bathroom curling her long brown hair that went down to her mid stomach.

"REALLY? Mason's house? His house is like in the edge of the city... It's so dark and creepy." I stopped moving my hand as my eyes stopped at a Navy blue dress that went to my knees.
It showed a little cleavage but it was still modest.

"Sure, Mason's house is a little creepy but almost everyone is going their. It'll be fun!" Defeated, I just put my dress on and walked over to the bathroom as I got my makeup bag out.

I glared at her and said "...Well you're doing my makeup then"

After about 40 minutes in the car driving to his house, we finally arrived. The music was beating loud from the red house. Teens were shouting as they drank from the keg upside down. I got out of the car with dread as Adeline pulled me closer to the chaos.

We climbed up the porch stairs as we saw Emily talking to another boy from our school. I think his name was James.

"Hey Emily! Sorry to intrude your conversation." Adeline smirked as she yelled over the music. Emily turned around as her blond hair whipped my face. Her brown eyes searched for who called her.
