Eight - Unanswered Question

"Zonic, open this door" Zails said as he stood facing to door, Zonic had locked earlier, everyone could hear things smashing and breaking, but also the muffled cries, which worried everyone, Zilver had told Zector and Zespio to go get the blue hedgehogs guardian

"Go away" was his reply, Zails had come as soon as he heard what had happened

"Zonic, open the door" Zails repeated

"leave me the fuck alone!" the yell startled everyone, and they looked at each other worriedly, except for Zails who only took a deep breath

"is this about the suspect earlier?" Zails said changing the subject, he didn't get a reply 

"he ran off after he was threatened to hit him... Zilver mumbled, everyone only looked at him

"that doesn't make any sense though" Zuckles muttered

"...Zonic we're trying to help, just please open the door" Zhadow frowned

"If you want to help, leave me alone to die! Like you did years ago!" that hit Zhadow hard, not by the words but by the sheer mix of anger and sadness of the tone

"i said i was sorry..." he didn't get a reply

"this is going no where" Zamy said

"Zonic...will you come out if its only me?" Zails sighed

"...no..."Zails sighed

"why don't you trust us to help you?!" Zilver stated

"...I don't trust anyone..." those words made everyone frown

"whats going on here?" The Warden asked as he appeared

"Zonic...he's locked himself in the bathroom..." Zails answered

The Warden rolled his eyes as he pulled a key out and unlocked it and motioning Zails to go in, Zails nodded as he went in quietly and frowned even more when he saw the broken tech and mirrors, Zonic was bent over the sink holding his head as blood slipped down from his hands from where he punched the mirror, his black shirt discarded on the ground along with his armour, showing where the wolves had attacked him all those years ago

tears streamed down his face, eyes red and puffy from what he could see in the mirror

"Zonic?" 

Zonic immediately turned to see Zails there by the doorway, no one else in sight, but he knew they were there

"Leave me alone"

"not until you calm down"

"Calm down?!"

"your unstable"

"I KNOW THAT"

"Calm down"

"HOW!?"

"take deep breaths and try to slow your heart rate down..."

"WHY DO YOU EVEN CARE?!" That was what made Zails go quiet, he hadn't expected "YOU KNOW I WAS ABANDONED, YET YOU CARE WHY?!"

"I care becau-"

"DON'T GIVE ME EXCUSES, WHY AND HOW COULD ANYONE CARE ABOUT ME?!"

"Zonic if i didn't care i would had left you in the tree to fend for yourself!"

"OH LIKE HOW MY PARENTS LEFT ME IN THE MIDDLE OF NO WHERE TO DIE?! I CAN'T EVEN GET AWAY FROM HIM, WITHOUT HIM TURNING UP AND TRYING TO HURT ME AGAIN! LIKE HE DID AT HOME HE'D DO THINGS I CAN'T FORGET!" the words had slipped as Zonic fell silent, Zails only stared in shock

"Zon-" he was cut off as the blue hedgehog grabbed his things and pushed his way out, and faced a group of worried faces, which he only ignored and pushed them away as he ran to his office, his companions following behind, but failing as they lost him, even the Warden had been surprised by what he had said

tears streamed from Zonic's eyes as he searched his desk for his warp ring, if only to get away from reality, but he froze when a blade found it's way onto his throat

"now...i want you to get this collar off me and maybe just maybe i wont give you a painful death"the voice chilled Zonic to the bones as he complied and took the key and unlocked the collar, as the warp ring was snatched off of him and used to create a portal to somewhere Zonic did not know "Get. In" the man growled just as his team stormed into the office

"let him go" 

"how about no"

"you have three seco-"

"till i slit his throat?"

"till we open fire"
