Chapter Six: Who is the Demon?

Alex arrived in the humongous pack house and quickly entered through the wide open double doors.

Margaux is crying very hard so he gently set her down on the floor before shifting back and grabbing a short from a basket near the entrance for situations like this. He slipped into the shorts and shouted for help.

Members of the pack quickly gathered around him and Margaux, solemn look plastered on their faces. Alex tries words of comfort to help Margaux calm down but his sloppy words and actions are futile.

Later, a familiar scent caught his senses. He looked up to see Beta Damian with a bunch of youths.

Alex stood up and grabbed Damian on his shoulders tightly as if holding onto his lifeline. The Beta seemed to be surprised but then recovered quickly.

"Damian, we need your help. A-A-A demon c-came a-and we ran away t-then m-my f-friend—"

Alex scrambled to tell what happened but he was too scared and agitated, so Damian interrupted him by grabbing his shaking body then said, "Calm down Alex. Explain what you encounter, everything's gonna be fine." 

"NO! It's not gonna be fine! My friend needs help! He's being chased by a demon for Pete's sake!"

Alex snapped back in anger. That's when Damian realized that that person needs immediate help.

"Okay, tell me where." The Beta asked.

"Come, follow me!" Alex practically pushed through the crowd before shifting and running back to where he last saw Aitken. Damian was about to follow when the Alpha came.

"What's going on here?!" He asked while coming out of the elevator in his boxers with a woman beside him only in her lingerie and bra. The two were clearly in a middle of something.

"I'll tell you later Alpha."

With that being said, he mind linked his squad members to follow him and Alex which is already quite far.

Beta Damian activated his gift then touching the four members of his Elite Wolves Squadron. After then, they glided through the forest to catch up to the frantic Alex.

'Out of curiosity Beta, who is this guy?' Ask Harley through the link.

'He's a cousin of the Alpha.' He replied nonchalantly. Thankfully, there are no follow up questions.

That's right, focus on the problem. He complemented his squad.

Alex came to a stop then sniffed the air. The others did the same, looking for traces, or something that could lead them.

Then there is it!

A faint and unique but unpleasant smell: the smell of the demon.

They all looked at each other before nodding and following the smell. The Beta was better at tracking than anyone as of the moment so he lead the way.

The smell grew stronger and stronger before it changed it's course on a sharp turn confusing the Beta.

That's odd, why did the demon change course all of a sudden? Damian asked himself then picked up something.

A very faint smell of something, something he couldn't decipher but its pleasant yet not at the same time. It smell weird but comes with the direction the demon is having.

Something is wrong...

Damian quickly picked up his pace leaving behind his squad and Alex for the gift's shared effect has worn out on them so they just ran without shifting. Still, Damian is like a gale passing through the trees with his Levitation.
