The inside of the Sea Duck was the opposite of the Higher for Hire office being impeccably kept and well appointed. So clean a meal could be eaten off the dashboard, though it wasn't advised as Baloo was sitting in the pilot seat. Beside him Kit was slumped over in his usual spot, with a map in his lap. Flying was the most relaxing thing Baloo had ever done. Behind the controls of the Sea Duck with only the sky in front of him was where he felt happiest but not even the open freedom of flight could calm his belly-aching.
"Can you believe this?" Baloo said again.
"Yeah it sucks. Start dropping our altitude though," Kit replied.
"And what was wrong with Baloo's Air Service? That name has history, people know they can trust it."
"Seriously start to drop, we are needing to head due west and then we will be in Hawkin's airspace."
"Higher for Hire sounds like we are stilt walkers for kiddie parties," Baloo said throwing his hat off in frustration.
"Baloo-"
"Or a ladder company for short window washers,"
"Baloo."
"Or like a party line or something."
"Baloo."
"It's not a dignified name for a cargo company that's for sure," Baloo finished with a huff.
Kit sighed," I don't know I mean it is pretty catchy and Miss C seems like she knows a lot about marketing. But hey Baloo we need to turn around you overshot it."
"Oh really?"
"Yeah by like 20 miles now," Kit said looking down at the instruments.
"No. not that. You really think anything she is doing is going to make a difference?"
"List Papa Bear, you know I am always on your side but I don't think trying things her way is going to hurt anything. You always say that the most important things in life aren't things but I'm afraid if we lose this ....I'll lose you too." Kit looked down at the map in his lap to hide his face as his voice cracked. "Don't you think that staying together is more important than staying the same?"
"I am never leaving you kid. No matter how hard you try to get rid of me." Baloo leaned over to ruffle Kit's hair. Kit picks back up the map, trying to look cool and unaffected but a smile slips out on his face too. The moment was interrupted as the radio started to playback static and a familiar voice came over the com.
"Salivations Baloo, you have foolishly flown right into my skies. I can only assume this means you are here to deliver me all of your cargo and save me the trouble of shooting you down. Yes, no?"
"Oh not this clown again like we don't have enough going on today," Baloo grumbled as he reached over to grab the radio.
"You're too early this time Karnagie we don't even have any cargo yet."
Through the clouds below the Sea Duck, sections of a giant, purple flying fortress could been seen. Pirates scrambled across the walkways of the gigantic air carrier, the Iron Vulture, fighting against the intense wind to keep their hats and their footing.
"Karnagie?" Don Karnage, a notoriously wicked red fox with a notch missing out of his left ear, said turning his winged captain's chair to look at his crew. "Why does he always do this to me? He knows my name."
Around him the crew just shrugs back in response. None of them willing to speculate to avoid a similar fate of their ex-crewmate, Questioning Quinn.
