Erik

More than ten calls later I star thinking everything is all right now, maybe she is happy hugging her boyfriend, who ditch her in the middle of the night in some suckass club. I would never do that, I would never do something like that to a woman. Ivonne seemed so fragile last night and it was me who helped her, I deserve and explanation and I'm going to get one or I'm going to die waiting for her to answer.

I leave my apartment and all I can do is think positive, that she is fine and happy but that would mean she made up with her boyfriend... which is good for her... I think. Wait, I don't deserve anything, I barely even know her, the best will be you coming back to your place and forgeting all about her. Yeah, she was cute, yeah she was weird, yeah she was beautiful but she has someone already, plus she is not even from around, so what? I wouldn't care travelling to see her... wait what? I stop on my pace and turn around, coming back to my apartment. What if she is miserable, alone and scared in some horrible hotel room? I turn around in the middle of the hall and finally get out to the parking lot. I do everything in autopilot, I start my car and take the direction to Ivonne's hotel. I don't want to think anymore because my thinking will tell me I'm doing something I shouldn't.

I don't even know her last name or in which room is she staying so... turn around my car? ¡No! Man up and go do what you want. You want to know if she is all right, there's nothing wrong with that, what if her boyfriend opens the door? It doesn't matter, just go and stop acting like a baby. I park my car and make my way to the hotel's reception. An old lady asks me if I have a reservation.

"No, no I'm here looking for someone" She smiles very kindly.

"Then tell me the name so I can look in our system"

"The problem is I only know her name, Ivonne"

"No last name? It'll be difficult young boy" She says looking at the screen "In fact, we don't have any Ivonne cheked. Maybe someone else cheked with her?"

"Yeah... maybe her boyfriend but I don't know his name. Look she is petit and has dark long hair, brown eyes... she is a tourist" I try my best but apparently the lady doesn't know who I'm talking about. She just shooks her head. I should have thought better before coming here. When I'm about to take my leave, another recepcionist comes closer.

"A foreign couple checked in a couple of days ago, but the man left this morning. When the girl arrived this afternoon she asked me about her boyfriend, she seemed upset"

"Did she have a black dress?"

"Yes, a coctel dress. She's staying at the room 19"

"Thank you so much"

The man left? So she is here on her own, but did he left never to come back? or just... anyway. I'm already in front of her door. I called her one last time, but she doesn't pick up. I don't hear anything from inside, maybe she went out. Maybe I should leave also. Maybe I... Maybe you should be a man and knock at her door like you are supossed to. You didn't come all the way over here just to stand here and then leave. Right. So that's what I do, I knock at the door three times but nothing.

"She is not here" I sighed. I feel dissapointed, I was expecting to see her again, one last time. I know she is a tourist, probably from Southamerica because of her accent although she speaks english very well. Anyway I should go now, she didn't answer so... I start walking to the elevator when someone called my name.

"Erik?" I turn around and see her there, standing in the middle of the corridor. She looks awful, her hair is even messier than yesterday and she is wearing baggy pijamas. I walk quickly to her.
