The same routine happened again, Army watched the new S4 battle and returned home again. Aloha tried to get someone to join him and failed yet again. At least this time Army was expecting him. Army managed to talk Forge into allowing him sit in living room, despite her obliges and constant worrying . It was worth it to not be trapped in bed all day.
Army was left sitting on a small bamboo sofa he owned. It could only fit two people and wasn't the most sturdy or comfortable, but he treasured it with all his heart. Forge and Army were mostly waiting for Aloha to show up. It was mostly quiet aside from the two orange inklings making mild conversation while watching daytime sitcoms on the TV.
Aloha had found himself in a mild-sprint as he had to take a detour due to the main route being under road constructions. He'd promised to be over at a certian time and wasn't about to let the other down. The soles of his shoes were loudly clicking off the hard pavemented floors as he ran. He was relieved to see the street that Army's home was located on and finally slowed down. Upon reaching his front door he had hurriedly pressed his index finger on the buzzer.
"Ughhh, I hope they aren't mad that I'm late."
He was greeted by Forge quietly opening the door. The moment immediately fell awkward as the two partically stared at one another. "Uh, ...hey?" Aloha tried to break the silence, Forge followed soon after "Oh dear I apologise, I'll let you in." she stepped back to allow the pink inkling to enter. "I'm sorry I just-, didn't really realise that you and Army were friends..? I thought you two like, hated each other." Aloha felt himself jolt at the statement "I-I-I, w-we-we're, like, kinda-friends now...I guess-" he messily spat out while also rubbing the back of his neck, now burning hot from the sudden fluster. "Oh I'm sorry did I offend you..?" Forge looked at him with a worried expression. "Oh no, I'm totally fine! don't sweat it!" he reassured in a burst of laughter.
.
.
"What are they doing out there?"
Army found himself narrowing his eyes at the living room's door, he was holding back the growing urge to scream at the two to hurry up. How long does it take to take off some outside wear? Then again Aloha was always the stalling type. he wasn't trying to flirt with Forge, right? Army doubted it thinking up things like "She's not really his type." and "It's not really the best place or time to do that." He was confused on why he was so invested in this, there's no way anything is happening between them. Besides, why would he care what Aloha does and what he's interested in romantically. Doesn't affect him either way, right? Aloha can like whatever girl he wants.
After a further 2 minutes, the two inklings finally re-united with Army. "Heyyy Army! How's the limbs?" Aloha greeted nudging the orange inkling's arms lightly. "They are better I suppose." Army flatly muttered. Aloha flicked his attention to the television placed behind him. "Oh-ho-ho~! This show's my favourite!" he chirped enthusiastically "Yo! Curry boy, mind if I sit down?" he questioned while placing one hand on the plush pillow in front of him. "Go ahead." Army moved up an inch while Aloha fell back on the sofa space. The pink inkling found himself sinking down into the soft pillows, feeling entranced by it's alluring comfort. "Mmmm- Army, where'd you find this stuff? I so need one for the beach house~" Army felt his cheeks flush from the inkling's subtle moan "I believe it was just purchased from some high-end apartment store, perhaps I'll find out the name for you if you require it." Aloha at this point seemed totally spaced out with his eyes closed, despite this managed to mutter a soft "mmm yes pleasee" Army found himself shamfully trying to avert his eyes in embarassment. Forge interrrupted with her mobile in hand "I believe this is it here, 'Hotategai kagu*' " Army nodded softy "I think that sounds right."
(* Hotategai = scallop/ Kagu = furnitureware)"Actually, we could go now and check their stock" Forge suggested. "Alright but I'm walking. It's humilating enough attending matches in that god-forsaken chair." Army stated coldly. "Okay fine by me. Just be careful please, Captian." Forge relied anxiously. Aloha at this point had just recovered from his feathered heaven. "Okay let's go~"and pulled himself up
The store was massive in size, decorative lights planted around the ceiling. As expected, the products were incredibly well made but had a high price to follow along with it. The Inklings spent their time looking for the cushions rather than looking around since Army was struggling to stay up.
"Yo, found 'em" Aloha signalled the two orange inklings over. There'd been a collection of many types; including the one Army owned. Aloha's eyes locked onto a pastel pink one decorated with a pattern of white polka-dots spread around on it's casing. His expression lit up as he grabbed a hold of two. "Sweet, I've got everything I need. You two need anything?" he grinned at the two. "Maybe I should buy a new spice rack, the old one's getting uneasy.." Army pondered aloud.
"Sure sounds good." The pink inkling agreed.
.
.
Upon leaving the store the three had never noticed how late it had gotten. The once blue skies and bright shining orb had faded to swirls of pinks and oranges with the sun setting beyond the distant vally mountians. Suddenly Aloha angrily cursed aloud "Shit- I should really get back home." Army and Forge were fazed by his language, neither had expected Aloha to be the type to use that sort of language. At the same time they felt like they should've maybe predicted it by his personality type, every member of the orange team were trained and raised to have flawless manners and very resiliant by their experiences in the army. Aloha had looked back on the two and realised what he'd just slipped from his mouth "Oh Cod- I'm sorry, I generally didn't mean to say that-" his expression fading to become more panicked. Forge spoke up "No, no, it's okay we're just not really used to casual speech like that." Army pitched in reassuring him with a smile "If you want we could... walk you back?" Aloha was taken back by their kindness "Really? you'd do that for me? It's a long walk though and surely Army isn't in the best condition for walking." the pink inkling glanced at the glaring casts coating Army's limbs. "Don't worry about that honestly, I'll be fine. Let's just help you back home."
.
Despite the long walk, Army enjoyed the cool breeze running along his cheek and neck. Much better than the cooped up airs of his house. He especially admired the fresh sea air of the coastside. He found himself watching Aloha's soft pink tentacles blowing in the gentle gust, his singular side-bang swinging lightly against the leftside of his face. Certianly a sight to behold.
"Welp, we're here" Aloha halted in front of a large beach-side home. The two orange inklings had heard of the pink team's decision to pitch in and buy a beach house to share, though they had no idea how large it really was in reality. "This is yours? It's massive!" Forge fawned. "Yep sure is~! all that money from event prizes really paid off for this beaut." Aloha idolized his home's exterior. "Well, you two best be going. I ain't holding ya back with my home haha~!"
"Mm, good idea." Army agreed "We should be on our way Forge." The female inkling nodded "yes captian." the group parted their ways for the night.
