Ned and Betty didn't break up.
Sorry it's been so long...
When I wake up the next morning Happy is gone. I smile as I remember some of the stories Happy told me last night. Sighing I throw the covers off of my bed and walk down the grand staircase into the kitchen. Everyone is already seated and chattering quietly.
But when I enter the room goes quiet, "Hey Peter," Happy says handing me a plate with some food on it.
"Thanks, Happy." He nods and I take an empty seat next to MJ and across from Ned. Flash is sitting on one end between Betty and MJ.
"Good morning Peter!" Ned says in his usually cheery voice and then takes another bite of his eggs. "We should all do something fun today, we could walk around outside for a while... or maybe we could watch a movie."
Thankful for Ned's cheeriness I respond with a smile, "Sounds fun," he smiles in return. A semi-awkward silence lands across the room.
"Hey, Peter, I have to go to the cabin today to check on Pepper and Morgan. I'll be back in a couple of days," Happy says.
A small pang goes through my chest but I quickly shake it off. Betty and Flash looked confused. Tony and Pepper didn't go public with Morgan to protect her. "Ok. The next time you go can I come with? I really want to properly meet Morgan," I respond. When I met Morgan it was at the funeral, something I'd rather forget.
"Maybe they can come here," Happy says. My smiles falters for a second, I'm not allowed to leave, I have to stay here until this identity thing is cleared up. If it ever is.
"Ok," I respond simply. I watch as May and Happy hug and exchange a quick kiss making him blush. By the time he leaves everyone is done with breakfast and we all head up to our rooms to change.
We all made a plan that we would meet in the commons at 10:30, giving us just about 40 minutes to do whatever we want to do. Flash's room is the fathest down the hall, Ned is next to mine and across from Betty. MJ's room is across from mine and May and Happy have rooms in a different hall.
Once I enter my room I quickly throw on a science pun t-shirt and some shorts and then walk out of the door towards MJ's room. When I knock on the door I hear a lot of movement before it swings open.
She steps out of the way and I walk in looking around her room taking in all of the books scattered about and a few sketchpads and pencils. Even though we only moved in yesterday she seems to be pretty situated.
"What's up, loser," MJ says, her voice softer than usual. I shrug and sit down on the side of her bed resting my elbows on my knees and my head in my hands. I feel the bed sink next to me and a warm hand on my back.
I take a deep breath, "I'm so sorry, MJ. This is all my fault," I whisper and shift my head so I am looking at her messy curls tied back into a low ponytail with a few strands hanging out around her face.
"No it is not, it's Mysterio's fault," She assures me. I partially believe her, although I can still feel a nagging voice in the back of my head, it's my fault because I let them be close to me. I put them in danger. I decided against saying that out loud though.
As silence falls across the room my thoughts wander to MJ. She is perfect, the way her hair is curly and the way her mouth turns into a small smile whenever I am around. The way her eyes light up when she feels passionate about something and the way she always knows what to say.
A burst of confidence has me leaning forward, space between our lips slowly decreasing until they are touching. Her hand wanders up to my neck and through my hair while the other is on my chest. One of my hands in her hair and the other is on her cheek.
