The next morning after breakfast, I am sitting in the living room when my phone begins to ring. Happy's ID appears on the phone and I answer it quickly.

"Hey, Happy," I say.

To my surprise, a little girl answers the phone, "H-Hi... Daddy talked a lot about you... I wanted to say hi... I'm Morgan."

Immediately a warmth fills my chest and a smile spreads across my face, "Hi Morgan! I've heard so much about you!" I respond.

"Really?" She says in shock.

"Yeah. I can't wait to meet you sometime," I say, my smile grew even bigger.

"I could show you my toys! I have a Captain America one, Black Widow, Hulk, Thor, Iron-Man, and even Spider-Man!" She exclaims happily.

"No way! I have an Iron-Man toy too! Maybe sometimes we could play together," I chuckle to myself and the enthusiastic tone in Morgan's voice.

"My mommy just finished making breakfast, I gotta go," she says after Pepper's muffled voice comes through the phone.

"Hopefully I'll see you soon, Morgan!"

"Yeah..." She responds. After a little shuffling Happy takes the phone and we talk for a while. He is coming back tomorrow and he wanted to see if I needed anything. Once I hang up, Ned looks at me oddly from the other chair he is sitting in with Betty.

"Who was that?" He asks.

"Morgan," I respond with a smile.

Just then my phone beeps and I quickly look at it.

Michelle: Come to my room, please.

I feel my stomach sink a little bit at her obvious concern. Frowning I respond with a 'k'.

Without saying anything to Ned or Betty I rush out of the room and up the stairs to MJ's room. When I arrive I don't bother knocking, I just throw open the door and close it behind me.

MJ is sitting on her bed hugging her knees, the sunlight lights up her face from the nearby window and a book sits on her nightstand. His face has a worried look on her face making me even more worried. When she hears the door open, her face snaps up to mine and she doesn't say anything.

With caution, I walk further into the room, sitting at the end of the bed instead of next to MJ.

Breaking the silence I ask, "What's wrong, MJ?" She looks down to her knees but doesn't say anything, "Was it about yesterday? I'm so sorry, I didn't try to, I was just having a panic attack and then I thought-"

She cuts me off quickly, "N-No... I... I just really need to tell you something because you've told me your secrets, and I can't hold it in anymore, and and, I'm so scared," she rambles on, but soon her breathing is too quick and she can't say anymore.

She is having a panic attack.

Jumping into action, I stand up and move to the front of the bed where she is sitting. "MJ, shhh, it's ok," I whisper. Hesitantly, I put a hand on her hair and slowly run it through while whispering to her.

Eventually, her breathing slows back down and she moves over on the bed making room for me. I sit down beside her and set her hand on my shoulder and the other on the back of her head, pulling me towards my chest. "You can tell me anything, ok?" I feel her nod and readjust her head so she is looking up at me.

"M-my parents... th-they," her body is trembling and her voice is broken, "They abuse me, Peter."

My hand running through her hair stops and my body freezes.

Abuse?

Why didn't she tell anyone?

Oh my god.

"M-Michelle," I whisper pulling her onto my lap. I feel my shirt getting damp from her tears, and tears fall down my face as well. The shock takes me over and I will myself to not picture what they have done for her. After part of the shock wears off, pure rage for her parents consume me.

What kind of evil people would do that?

I hate them.

"E-Everything is going to be ok," I whisper against her skin, not sure if I really believe myself. Her body is still trembling in my arms.

"Don't tell anyone, Peter. Anyone," She says in a threatening voice between sobs.

"I won't," I whisper, even though I know that is not true, I have to tell someone, at least May. She would know what to do. "I'm so sorry," I say. I'm Spider-Man. I could have saved her. She shakes her head into my chest.

"Peter, I don't want to go back, it's so nice here, be-because you are here... and they aren't," she says in a trembling voice.

I lay another kiss on her cheek, "You aren't going back, baby, y-you can move in with May and me." I don't realize what I say until after I say it, but I don't care as long as she never has to go back.

"Really?" He voice has a slight bit of hope in it and it makes my heart crumble.

"Of course."

"Did you just call me baby?" Despite her head being buried in my chest, I can see the smirk playing out on her lips.

My face grows red, "I-I... uh... well... sorry?" I stutter out, making my face even redder. MJ lets out a small chuckle making me smile. Her laugh is beautiful. She is beautiful.

"If you call me that in front of anyone I will chop your dick off and shove it down your throat," she threatens.

I let out a small squeak but then smirk, "That would be a punishment for you too, baby." I whisper into her ear.

"Did you not hear what I just said?"

"But we aren't in front of anyone... does that me you... you like it?" I tease kissing her forehead.

She doesn't respond for a moment.

And then for another.

"Shut up, loser."

Silence falls across the room.

"MJ, thank you for telling someone about it if you need anything, or even if you don't need anything, I'm always here. Always,"

She doesn't respond. She just lets out a content sigh and we sit for a while.

"Hey, MJ," I say in a quiet voice.

"What?"

"I-I think you should talk about... it more. You don't have to today, or even tomorrow, but I think it would help," I say while running a hand through her hair again.

"Ok."

Silence falls across the room again, but my mind is going crazy, everything makes so much more sense. Shutting herself out, never inviting anyone to her house, never talking about her parents, all of it.

After another beat of silence, I break it once again, "Hey, MJ,"

"Yeah, Loser,"

"Does this mean I can call you baby?"
