Chapter Four: Dinner Disaster

Later that Night, At Dinner

Me and Jim were busy eating at the king and queen's table. However, I couldn't eat at all. One, because my stomach was hurting me a bit after hearing what Lumiere told me. And two, I was afraid to ask Jim what he will think if he found out. "Genesis? Are you alright?", he asked me. I looked up quickly and tried to act natural. "Yes, baby! Babe! No, I mean! Ba- Ugh! Never mind... I'm just, well...", I tried to explain to him. This was going to be so harder than I thought it was going to be. Even if I tell him, he might think of me a crazy. "What's the matter?", Jim asked me while getting up from his chair and coming up to me. I then took a breath and began to talk. "One word... Just one word... You can do this...", I told myself in my mind. "Jim, I think-", I said until he stopped me for a second. "Wait! Before you answer, I actually have something to tell you too. I wanted to wait till dessert, but I can't anymore!", he said in excitement. "What is it?", I asked him. He then gave me a smile and held my hands. "Well, the phone call I got this afternoon, was from Captain Amelia. And she told me that I was just recommended for the Star Ship Academy! Meaning that I will explore throughout the entire galaxy, in my very own star ship!", Jim explained to me. I got up from my seat and congratulated him with a hug. "Honey, that's great!", I said as he placed me down. At least one good thing has happened so far. "Yep! So once I become king, I'll be off exploring the galaxy for the next five years!", Jim said in more excitement. However, I froze for a second. Did he just say that he'll be gone for five years after the day of our wedding? "Jim, are you serious?", I asked him. "Of course! This is something big for me to do.", he answered as I started to feel a bit down. "Jim, don't you think we should-", I said until he cut me off. He was just so happy, he didn't even realize how I was feeling right now. "Celebrate? Yes! Where's the chef? I'm hungry for dessert and for some coffee-", he went on. However, I had to get him to stop in order to talk. "Jim! I'm not happy with this at all!", I said. Jim just didn't say anything. He just stood there with a blank expression. "What?...", he asked me. "Listen, I'm okay with you leaving me for at least a week or two. But five years away in the galaxy?", I said to him. "Genesis, this is the first time I've been offered something this big. What's wrong with that?", he said to me. This got me to get up from the chair and look at him. "A better question would be, what's wrong with you?", I told him off. Jim looked down on the floor for a second and sighed. This started to give me reminders about his old past self, before we've even met. "Look, I'm just saying that I can't believe that I got something this big. Why are you making this sound like a bad thing?", he said. "Jim, it's five years away from me! FIVE! You don't know what could happen to you out there again. Plus, you want to do this after our wedding day! So what, is this just going to be a ticket for you to abandon me or something? Or for you to not worry about being king to my kingdom?", I explained to him in the most serious way I can. I never thought that I would ever be fighting with my man right now. Now I know what a couples fight feels like. "Genesis, this isn't an excuse for anything! This is just something cool that I want to do, after our wedding.", Jim said as I crossed my arms. "Oh! Well I'm sorry if our wedding is getting in the middle of what you want to do more.", I said as his face expression started to change. "You know what? You're right! Maybe I don't want to get mar-", he said until he stopped. My eyes widen up, immediately. I couldn't believe that he would say something like that to me. "I honestly can't believe you! You know what, I think I'm done with dinner. I'm just going upstairs to bed, and you're sleeping on the couch tonight!", I told him off. Afterwards, I walked away from him. Still feeling furious about what he just told me. "Where are you going?! I'm not done with you!", he said while following me upstairs to our room. "Well I'm done listening!", I shouted from the stairway.

At the Bedroom

As I was about to go inside, Jim stopped me for a second by standing in front of the door. "Move out of my way, now!", I said angrily. "No! No ones going inside until we talk this out! You know, if you wouldn't have stressed out over being queen, and to make me put words in my mouth, none of this would be happening right now!", Jim said strictly. This got me to give him a look and to put my hands on my hips. "Oh! So you're saying that this is my fault now. What has gotten into you l- Wait! I think I know what!", I said to him directly. "What is it then?", he asked. This time, I finally let him have it. "Because you don't even know how to even be a ruler, that's what! I've been doing most of the work, and you have been doing nothing lately. You have no idea how to rule a kingdom perfectly. You know what? Maybe if you go talk to Mal and Ben, then maybe they can teach you how to rule a kingdom perfectly. Since they're both agreeing to rule over the kingdom AND the Isle as well! Good night!", I stated in the most harshest way as possible. After that, I moved Jim out of the way and got inside the room. "You can't kick me out of bed! I'm the man of the castle! I'm the one who brings treasures to get donated to other kingdoms! I- Oof!", he rambled on. However, I decided to shut him up by throwing him a pillow and blanket out the door. As I did, I slammed the door shut and locked it. "FINE! I'll sleep on the couch! But let me tell you something! When you wake up tomorrow morning, don't expect me to be there!", Jim shouted outside the door. I leaned back on the door to take a breath, and tried to calm myself. However, I still felt bad about what I told him. I wasn't really mad at him. I just didn't want him to go because I would miss him. I turned around to the door and was about to grab the handle, but I decided to not try and go talk to him. As I walked away from the door, I went over to the window and looked at the dark sky.

After expressing about how I feel at this point, I just remembered something that I forgot to check. "THE TEST!", I reminded myself. I ran straight into the bedroom bathroom and took out the stick that I hid from Jim. Before I even looked, I closed my eyes and took a deep breath. Once that was over, I opened up my eyes and saw what were the results.
