America's P.O.V
Ugh...my everything hurts. I don't even know why he beat me this time. Normally he only does this when I do something wrong, or something that can hurt our family's reputation, but this time, I haven't done anything wrong. Well, at least that I know of. I wish my father didn't hate me as much as he did, I don't even know why. My brother, Canada, has never been hit, kicked, pushed, punched, or even yelled at by my father. He has always been the favorite.
I head to the bathroom, I'm going to assume you can already guess why. I honestly don't know why I hurt myself, seeing as I'm normally already in enough pain, it just feels right. Though I suppose if mom ever found out father could just say the bruises were also self-inflicted. Oh well.
I grab my razor and start sliding it over my skin. I feel all my doubts and anxiety's melt away. I slide the razor blade back into its place and go to my room as quickly as possible. I enter and lock the door, knowing what will happen if I don't. I wish mom didn't work until eight. Maybe then I wouldn't endure as much pain.
My thoughts wonder back to Russia. About he could have so easily seen my cuts if I had slid my sleeve up anymore. He seemed so..worried? No that can't be it. He hates me, just like father. He would never care, not that it matters, I'm just stating the obvious. "America!" A voice that I'd recognize from anywhere called. France, my mother wanted to speak with me.
I pushed down my sleeves again and opened my door, only to be greeted by my mother, who looked slightly concerned. "Sweetheart" she begun. "I think we need to talk...about the bruises" My heart sank. Mom never had any idea about what was happening when she wasn't home. "Oh I-it's nothing..just a stupid accident..I..uh fell down the stairs" I mentally faceplamed at my stupid excuse. "Honey...I know you're lying" I froze, she couldn't know..right?
