I was down stairs eating some cereal on the couch, Velvet was sitting with me watching the TV. I looked over at the bandage now on her neck, she caught me staring and grinned.
"If you feel bad sweetheart, just know it was a lot more enjoyable than it looked."
Heat rose to my face as I finished my cereal, Velvet picked up the remote and changed the channel. She flickered through them until she landed on the news, apparently a gruesome murder happened last night. I heard a light grumble come from Velvet, I looked over and saw her holding her stomach.
"Do you want something to eat?"
She looked over at me, she scratched her chin for a minute or two before a evil grin spread across her face.
"Yes I do."
I gave her a confused look.
"Okay, what would you like to have?"
She smiled wider.
"Are you on the menu?"
My face went red, I quickly looked away trying to hide my blush. Velvet walked over and straddled me wrapping her arms around my neck, I looked up at her green eyes.
"Is sex the only thing you think about?"
She smiled showing me her signature fangs.
"Pretty much."
She leaned down to kiss me but I put my hand on her mouth and lightly pushed her back.
"We're not doing this again, I want to ask you more about this bite."
She rolled her eyes a bit then looked back at me, I waited for her to get off me but she didn't.
"Are you gonna get off me?"
I asked, she gave me a questioning look.
"You didn't say anything about after you ask questions."
It was now my turn to roll my eyes.
"Can you please explain this bite a bit more to me."
Velvet seemed to think for a moment before responding.
"I know that every Vampire is supposed to have a love partner, if it's another Vampire then there's no rules, but if it's a human then it's a bit complicated."
My brow furrowed, she saw my confusion and continued.
"If a Vampire were to fall in love with a human they would either have to hide their true self of come out and hope for the best. But sometimes two Vampires might go for the same human, it's rare but can still happen. Like for yourself."
I scoffed. Velvet continued.
"If two Vampires go for the same human they must battle to see who can make the human fall for them, or mark them as theirs."
I felt one of Velvets fingers lightly trace the edge of the bandage on my neck.
"When one wins it could go two ways. One being they get the human and it's all happily ever after, or two the Vampire who loses might get jealous and try to win the human over."
I nod my head.
"So that was Chris who entered my room last night."
Velvet nodded her head, suddenly a worried expression laced her face.
"I can't believe I'm saying this but, I'm worried about you. I'm worried Chris will win you over and take you from me."
I was surprised by what she had just said, the lust wanting Vampire who just moments ago was flirting with me is worried? I thought for a moment before taking a huge breath, I grabbed Velvets waist and looked her in the eyes.
"Chris can't win against you, you've already won me over, and it's hard for someone to change my mind. Plus, you have marked me so I guess that means I'm yours."
Velvet smiled then rubbed her hands against the sides of my arms.
"You like me don't you?"
I rolled my eyes and a smile spread across my face.
"You like me more."
We were both smiling until the sound of the front door opening caught us off guard.
"Ashley, I brought you some soup!"
