"Fuck!" I yelled as I hit my head on the wall of the bar.

I downed my 8th drink before returning to the dance floor. I don't know why I let my roommate, Daniella, convince me to go out, but I'm glad she did. I was having the most fun.

"Still the party animal. I guess old habits die hard."

I turned around at the voice.

"Dansby." I slurred. "What are you doing here."

"I just got moved out here after I signed with The Braves, and I was coming here to celebrate."

"Oh." I said before walking away.

He grabbed my arm causing me to lose my balance, but before I could fall, he caught me.

"Let me take you home. You're drunk."

"I can do it on my own. Thanks though." I mumbled.

"Mel, you'll thank me in the morning."

"Fine." I said as he walked me to his car.

I climbed in and hit my head on the ceiling.

"Dammit." I said.

He chuckled and started driving. I let myself doze off a little bit.

When I woke up, I was not at my apartment. I looked around the room, but I did not recognize a single thing.

Cursing, I got up and walked down the stairs only to see Dansby sleeping on the couch.

"Oh no." I whispered to myself as I recalled the events from last night. I quietly slipped out the door so I wouldn't wake him and be forced to speak.

I walked to the elevator and as soon as the doors closed, I lost it. Tears flowed freely down my face.

When the elevator doors opened at the lobby, I didn't expect Dansby to be there.

"What? How did you-

"Stairs." he said as he panted a little bit.

"Mel, I want you to talk to me. What's wrong?" he said as he wrapped his arms around me.

His small action only caused me to cry harder but he didn't let go.

After a cried until I couldn't anymore, I spoke.

"I really am sorry, Dansby." I slipped out of this grasp and began to leave.

"Dammit, Melany, why do you always run away from every difficult thing!"

I stopped and turned around slowly.

"Fuck. You." I said before turning back around.

"You can't even say I'm wrong! Can't you just talk to me? It's not hard to have a conversation, Mel!"

"Dansby, you're causing a scene." I stated calmly as I realized we were still in the lobby.

He walked up to me, backing me into the wall. Pinning my wrist above my head, he kissed me, and every emotion that I locked away so long ago came back to the surface.
