THE VILLAGE

CHAPTER # 9

Days passed by , and the final exam of their last year in college came near , soon they'd graduate . Maria like before , used to still help Ali in his studies .

In these past years and after several times meeting Ali's parents , now they  were much more serious about their relationship and more in love than ever .

            Maria passed the papers with flying colours and got a free scholarship to the university she always dreamt of .
Ali encouraged Maria to talk to her father about this " he'd understand and be very proud of you " were the exact words of Ali , which kind of gave her the strength to stand in front of her father .

               " Dad " she said in a wobbly voice .
Just to impress her father she'd done everything but her father remained the cold hearted he was . She loved him for sure , but never got the same in return , but not with her brother , it was like in the same house  she was a maid and her brother was the prince.
The only person she got comfort , love and support from was her mother , she was the only one who cared for her .

" Dad I got free scholarship for the university ... "
Her father looked up from the newspaper and raised his brow " so what ? " she felt a lump in her throat , wanting to cry , as any good father would appreciate his daughter but not her's .
" I'm getting a full scholarship dad , that means …. "
" I know what that means young lady , what you're trying to do here , the persuading and all is of no use , you have already studied more than expected "  was her dad's reply .

" yes , no need to even think about it , and what will you do after studies ? you're a girl , a curse " her brother zubair said . She always hated her brother's interruption in her matters , he was so jealous of her as he was an average student after all .

She turned around and pointed a finger at him " you donot need to speak in the middle , it's none of your business " , she was fuming with anger .

She flinched at her father's voice
" enough , do your work Zubair , and you Maria , he is your brother talk to him politely , he didn’t say anything wrong , girls have nothing to do with studies its … "
Maria's mother interrupted and said
" but if she is getting a whole free opportunity , then whats the problem , she is very intelligent ",
" but when its not beneficial then whats the use of wasting time " her father said , but her mother would never stop , she as much as maria wanted her to study further
" if she wont be able to bring good grades then we'll stop her , but atleast let her try "
" End of discussion , she is getting older and now it's her age to get married not study further "
" But .... " Said her mother who was stopped by her father " no more discussion I said "

She was scared , Never did she thought that her father was planning on getting her married .

            It was Thursday , she made an excuse to go to Anita's house , and instead went to the field to meet Ali to inform him about her father's intention .

        Little did she know that her life is going to turn upside down ...  

Well well well , looks like the climax of the story is near ... 
As I warned before this story have a loads of up's and down's , so be prepared .......
