A/N: By the way, everything written in
cursive is spoken in japanese. And everything written normally is in english. (y/n) is a japanese Goddess, so she will also be thinking in japanese. Enjoy!

Your POV

"(y/n), Goddess of death and life, you have disobeyed the rules by bringing someone back from the dead who was meant to taste the flavor of death! What do you have to say for yourself!?", Amaterasu, the Goddess of the sun, shouted at me.
I was on my knees, in front of her, my nose touching the ground. I was shaking in embarrassment and fear of what was to happen to me. She scolded me in front of all the other Gods and Goddesses. I could basically hear their spiteful laughter and see the pity on some of their faces.

"My deepest apologies, but I was under the impression that the said yokai shouldn't have died yet!", I said putting all my courage into that one sentence. Oh, but how wrong I was in letting these words slide past my lips. For a split second the whole room was left silent, acknowledging the anger provided by the Goddess in front of me.

Shit.

-was all I could think of before she slapped me. I fell to the ground, my lip bleeding, regretting my life choices. From the corner of my eye I could see my familiar, (more or less a servant of a God/Goddess) pity and guilt in his eyes. His pure white fox ears were hanging low and his white, fluffy tail was wrapped around his leg in fear. I send a small reassuring smile his way when our eyes met.

"How dare you talk back at me! I am the Goddess of the sun and universe! I live above you so don't you dare talk back at me!", she once again shouted at me. I was definitely testing her patients and anger but she was also testing mine.

To be honest I had enough of listening to her lies. The Goddess of the universe? stronger than me?! Don't make me laugh. All she is, is the Goddess of the sun, nothing less and nothing more. And she's definitely not stronger than I am. All the creatures in this room know that I could kill her in a mere second.

I slowly stood up, wiping the blood from my lips, a dark aura around me. "Amaterasu, please stop telling lies. Both of us know that you are not a Goddess of the universe nor could you ever defeat me.", I said looking up at her with an unamused expression.

I heard whispers and giggles going around the room. Though I knew my actions weren't the best choice, since she is quite powerful at the moment. I still don't get why six of our Gods left their power and duties up to her, to leave for vacation. They're making my eternal life as a Goddess even harder than it already is.

"So, you see I actually wanted to just let you pass with a small task as punishment for your wrong doings, but now a much harsher punishment awaits you.
Let's see... how about I'll take one of your eyes or maybe rip out your tongue so you won't talk back anymore", she said with a psychotic smirk. I looked at her unfazed. "Or how about I'll take these lovely powers of yours?", she suggested. I didn't care if she would rip out my eyeball, I wouldn't care if she would cut off my tongue, but I won't allow her to take my powers from me.

At that moment my familiar stepped in and said:"Please spare her, I was the one who asked her to bring that boy back to life, I am the responsible one, so please punish me instead of her!" He bowed down, looking at the floor, hoping she would have mercy on me."My my, what a loyal familiar you have. What is your name fox?", she asked with a demanding voice. "Tadao", he said almost shouting. "Oh how fitting", she said mockingly.

((A/N): The name "Tadao" means "loyal" or "loyal man".)

"Tadao what do you think you're doing?", I said with a deep intimidating voice."I-I'm sorry I just tried to help you...", he mumbled knowing, what he did wasn't helping me at all. I sighed, looking up at  the Goddess in front of me and said:"What is your punishment Amaterasu?" At first she seemed surprised at my courage, but then a smirk washed over her face."You are not allowed to show your face at the after party tomorrow and I will enable your powers for exactly one week." I could feel my heart getting heavy, but still relieved that she didn't rip out my wings or did anything to Tadao."Raijin!", she started, calling the God of Storms,"I want your winds to take her and her familiar somewhere to earth, it doesn't matter where. Now, I'll enable your powers, so hold still." She placed her hands on my forehead.

I felt a slight pain in my body before I felt completely numb. It was as if a portion of my life was being sucked out of my body. I gripped my teeth at the new feeling, knowing I couldn't do anything about it.

Now before anything else happens, how about I explain this whole situation. My name is (y/n), I am 514 years old, which is quite young for a Goddess if I may say so. My parents were the God of death and the Goddess of life. Oh well... Benzaiten, the Goddess of love, told me that opposites attract each other. Anyway, that makes me the Goddess of life and death. As you may already know, I have a fox yokai familiar named Tadao. A friend of his died while fighting with another yokai. So Tadao begged me to bring him back to life. The problem is, I'm not allowed to bring everyone back to life, I can only bring those back to life, which could still be of use to the world. And here is where I broke a rule. I brought Tadao's friend back to life in order to make my familiar happy. And now here I am, being punished for my wrong doings. But it was worth it. To see a smile on Tadao's face is enough for me to break that rule.

Amaterasu let go of me, as I fell to the ground feeling weak and exhausted. She smirked upon my state and motioned Raijin to send me off. He rolled his eyes at her and as told stood in front of me and Tadao and called his winds to take us away.

"Oh yes, I almost forgot. Your flying carriage will be send to your shrine, so don't worry about that. Now goodbye, I'll see you next year!", she said with a faked smile. I glared at her and let the winds carry Tadao and me away.
