(Y/n)'s POV

I woke up with a terrible headache.
"I don't remember falling asleep", I said to myself tiredly. I heard a knock on my door, so I quickly fixed my bed hair and went to open the door. I came face to face with Sebastian. I looked up at him and couldn't help but notice how much taller he was than me. "How can I help you?", I said smiling. "I just came to tell you, dinner is ready to be served", he said smirking. His smirk made me feel a bit uneasy, but I kept my smile on and motioned for him to lead the way.

The walk to the diningroom was silent and uncomfortable. Finally arriving I saw Tadao standing by the other servants, helping them out. The young Earl was already sitting at the table smiling at you.
I walked over to the table and Sebastian pulled a chair out for me.

As we were eating we made friendly small talk and got to know each other a bit better. That is until he told his servants, minus Sebastian, to leave the room. They bowed and obeyed. As the door was shut, I felt myself getting uncomfortable. If anything was to happen, I won't be able to protect myself, since my powers were gone. I am able to fight, but I'm by far not as strong as when I've got my powers and to be honest, I'm not on board with fighting a high ranking demon butler without my powers.

The teenage boy smiled at me calmly and asked:" Now (y/n) tell me, did you sell your soul to the demon serving you?" I tensed up at that question. Any other being would have lied in this situation, but not me. I couldn't lie, it just wasn't in my nature."No", I said plainly, hoping he would drop the subject. But it was dumb of me to even consider the thought. "Oh? Then tell me, why does he serve you?", he asked a bit pushy. "Well, I simply made him my familiar", I said, not caring about him finding out anymore. "A familiar? Explain further", he pushed me further into digging my own grave. I was close to losing my composure, but answered anyway:" A familiar is a demon, who is under a contract with a God or Goddess, which obliges them to serve the God or Goddess. The contract is sealed by a kiss", I explained still uneasy. "You really didn't hesitate on that, now did you your divinity", I nodded again with a smile on my face to cover up the uneasiness I was feeling. "I'll reintroduce myself; I'm the Goddess of life and death (Y/N), it's a pleasure my Lord", I said explaining a bit further and slightly bowing my head. "Now I am curious as to how a goddess such as yourself found herself on earth", The butler asked observing my every shuffle and expression. "Well, all of us Gods live on earth, we just conceal our self to look like humans. But I think the question you meant to ask was, why I'm here and not at my shrine. Well... long story short; I angered a Goddess at the yearly party by breaking a rule. As my punishment she enabled my powers for a week and banned me from going to the after party. And now we're here", I said recounting the previous events.

"Then... How do you plan on returning to your shrine?", the young Earl asked, with genuine curiosity. I looked up at him and sighed:" I guess we'll have to travel back to japan, like any other human would"
"I see...", Sebastian started, "you don't have to worry for now, my master will surely let you stay here until you figured things out. After all, we can't have a Goddess walk around in the open streets, without being able to protect herself with her full power, and especially not a beautiful one, such as yourself"

In all honesty, I wasn't in the mood to flirt right now, so his flirtatious comment rather annoying. Nevertheless I pulled myself together and smiled sweetly :"I'm flattered"

The boy in front of me cleared his throat, trying to fade the situation into less awkwardness, which I fully appreciated to be completely honest. I mean, it's not like the demon isn't my type, not at all, I think he is quite attractive and charming, but I just wasn't up to deal with that, in the ongoing situation."Of course I'd be more than happy to let a being of your rank stay here at my manor", the young Earl said with a faked smile.

That smile looked practiced and soulless. There was no emotion in it. It was purely acted out. It was the expression of someone who lost their smile, their joy. There was no way any normal human could look past the expression into the boy's heart. But I'm not a human after all.
"Tell me, now that I gave you information about me, what happened to you?", I said, my earlier smile gone. "Pardon?...", the young boy looked at me, taken by surprise. "Your smile, it's fake. And it seems to me you had quite some time to practice your impression." "You saw past it?... Very well then. I was born an only child into a seemingly happy family. Behind the looks of the English community though, the Phantomhives work as the queen's watch dogs of the underground. I'm sure you can figure out the meaning of that title by yourself. One night a satanstic organisation, I'm guessing, attacked us, burned the manor to ashes, took my parents' lives and brought me to a manor, where they were holding their rituals. They wanted to use me and some other kids as sacrifices for Satan. After countless tortures and humiliations, they were about to send me off to hell, when I suddenly subconsciously summoned a demon. I sold my soul to him in exchange for his loyalty. I named him Sebastian. From then on forth we worked to make ourselves acceptable in the eyes of society. Since then we've been waiting for the culprits of my humility to show up and aim to let the Phantomhive name never see the light of day again", he explained with such honesty. Throughout his story I could feel my muscles tense at his dedication. I smiled at his serious face and said:" My my, looks like you really had your share of life experience."

He looked at me, stood up and bowed:" I'm quite tired after all of our talking, so I'll be heading to bed now. I wish you a good night your divinity" With that he exited the room and went to his sleeping chamber, I assume. I couldn't help but chuckle. 'A child with such purity, destroyed by a bit of torture and humility. Humans sure are interesting.' The butler looked over at me and wondered what I was thinking about that could have made me chuckle like that. I rose from my chair and bowed as well. I didn't say anything, just gestured Tadao to come with me and bowing to the other servants to discharge myself. They bowed in return and watched me and Tadao walking off. "Hey (Y/N), was that just now really okay? I'm talking about telling them what you are.", Tadao asked worrying for future events. "It's fine, don't worry", I said, ruffling his hair as we went inside my room.
