The King of Darkness

Chapter 10

My breath is caught in my throat and I could feel my hands starting to shake. 

"W-what?", I stuttered. My heart is starting to pump fast and I am terrified that it will jump out of my chest. Hades was standing so close to and his heat was radiating off of him, making the room hot and difficult to breathe. 

"You heard me Violet. Don't you want to lick that chocolate mousse off of me?", he said huskily and leaned closer towards my face. His minty breathe intoxicating me and his musk scent sending shivers down my spine. 

"I-I didn't say that.", my stuttering wouldn't stop and Hades smirked at my stuttering. 

"Yes you did. You said it out loudly in your mind, it could echo through the entire castle," he whispered in my ear and it took a lot of will-power to not moan. 

"My thoughts are private and should not be intruded by a pervert like you.", I said and my stuttering was gone. My senses came back and I moved away from him and glared at him. 

He stood there with a surprise look on his face and then he put on his normal charming face. 

"Well, it looks like the walls are back up and I guess I should leave you be.", he said and started walking away. 

"What do you want from me?", I asked and he stopped in his tracks. 

"I don't know myself.", he said and he left me in the kitchen.

The 'fake' sun rose and begins a new day, in living hell that I'm in. The sound of laughter that came from the dining room woke me up mostly. I quickly went to take a shower and get changed into something more comfortable. A pair of jeans, a tank top and pumps. My hair was tied up in a pony tail and my face was clean from make up. 

I was walking towards the dining room and the laughter became louder. I opened the door and there was the four other competitors sitting on the dining table and laughing at whatever Hades was saying. 

"Oh, my dear Violet. You have finally decided to show yourself.", he said and the girls just stared at me. 

"Good morning to you too.", I said sarcastically to the girls and took a seat far away from them. 

"Hades was just telling us about how disrespectful and idiotic you are.", one of the girls said and I think her name is Lalia. She was beautiful but a fake. 

"Oh, is that so.", I said through gritted teeth and glared at Hades. 

"Well, ladies please take your seats and we shall begin.", he said. The girls complained and walked to their seats with sulked faces. 

Tiffany obviously sat closer  to Hades and gave me the snake eye. I gave it back and she looked away instantly. Hades looked at me and mouthed behave.

"Now ladies, we are all here together and to discuss the second trial that is coming up next week.", he said and the girls suddenly showed fear in their eyes. 

"What is this trial going to be about now.", Tiffany asked. 

"This trial is actually a surprise and mostly about your knowledge about the Underworld. This is your decision to study the kingdom or not to bother at all.", he said and I didn't believe that this could be that easy. 

"What, so this is like a test that we have to write or is there more to it?", I asked and there was a glint in his eyes. 

"Now that is where the surprise comes in.", he says, smiling and I can fell the evil tendencies that he has planned.
