She used to be quiet. Used to be.

She wasn't the type who loves to talk. She might seem like it, considering that she really is approachable but believe me, she rarely talks. Yes, she has a lot of friends and they're used to her.

Every time she was asked why she's not fond of chatting, she would reason out how she doesn't want waste her saliva with nonsense. She's good with banters and debates, being logical about fundamentals. Once she opens her mouth, you wouldn't want to dig your own grave.

She's a smart ass.

But just like any other stories, there's something that made her changed. Sana, a friend of hers, introduced her to a cousin who never stopped bothering her. Until a day came, the girl got into her nerves, she confronted her and later on got into a topic in which both of them had debated.

Since then, you'd always hear her talk whenever the Japanese was around. They'd always debate about issues and politics. Her friends were just amused, seeing her enjoy the company of the other. They might seem like mortal enemies. Might seem, but they were definitely the closest.

The conversations they've had were all deep. Random they all were but unanswered curiosities were answered.

She used to see illusions fun. Used to.

She had always been the logical one in the group, her friends serving her questions and her ending up finding deeper meanings to things she thought were shallow to even discuss.

It's crazy and maybe she is that she went to almost every illusion museum that existed in the whole of South Korea. There was even this time that Tzuyu just suddenly invited her to Taiwan, as in on the spot. And of course she agreed, besides, it was for free.

She used to show her cheeky smile, always. But used to.

She thought every moment should be spend without having regrets. Any regrets. No matter how bad the day went, she would still show that bright smile of hers.

Her views changed.

It was a special day, supposedly. The car was parked parallel to the curb as she was waiting for her younger brother who wanted to check out this new console.

She was having another debate with her favorite Japanese when suddenly she felt pain. The car shook as it reacted to the contact of the truck that hit it.

She opened her eyes and saw the Japanese lifeless. She herself was weak to even lift a finger. The glass were all over them as she felt small pieces dig her skin.

The next thing she remembers, she tried moving. She knew she opened her eyes at that moment but she couldn't see anything.

"Noona", she got out of her trance.

"Oh", she asks.

"Momo noona's finally awake and talking. Do you want go there now?"

The Japanese got into comatose and she was unsure of how long the girl had been in the hospital bed. She lost count, waiting for her to wake up.

She just nodded at her brother. Just like that, she felt her wheelchair being pushed.

"Hi, baby", she hears the familiar voice. She smiled her cheeky smile. "Aren't you happy to see how well I am now? I heard I've been asleep for months."

She was at the verge of crying, "B-baby, I c-couldn't see."

She felt warm hands atop her cold ones. "I know. I'll be here by your side, forever. I won't leave you. We'll get over this."

She felt the Japanese plant a kiss on her hand. "In fact, your mom delivered the good news to me. You can have your surgery, as long as you want to, okay?"

Tears kept flowing from her eyes. "I love you, Im Nayeon."
