She wears what she wants
Has both good days and bad
Speaks her mind
Regardless of the consequences
Loves her body in both jeans and long skirts
Glows with and without makeup
And she'd rather make her own rules than break society's
Society says that you must look a certain way if you are going to be beautiful
She knows we are all perfect
Society dictates that only models can be body confident
She knows we all have ups and downs, but all deserve crowns
Society believes we must act and dress all the same
She knows we must champion our diversity, it is our power,
Society says women should not be too opinionated, should only speak when spoken to,
And never speak of politics, or history, or current events
She knows we must leave our hearts on the floor, and our words lingering on the mic
As our voice has more of an impact than you'll ever believe.
Yes, she knows.
And soon the world will, too.
