Nightmare

The next day conan and the detective boys was looking at the empty chair next to him
Mitsuhiko: it's unusual for haibara san to skip school
Genta: yeah it's usually conan who doesn't show up
Conan: hey I always show up to school
Ayumi : I was talking with ai chan before I get to school she has a fever and coughed a lot it's really bad
mitsuhiko: I hope she gets better
Genta: maybe because she doesn't sleep at night
Ayumi: i think it's because she took a shower and left the window open even though I told her to close the window but looks like she forgot , poor ai chan
mitsuhiko with a concerned voice: we should visit her she will feel better
Ayumi: i was thinking the same
Genta nodded
They look at conan who was silent for a while now
Conan: ah yes of course we should I'll bring her ran nechan's famous soup

His memories went back to events from two days ago (Silly that's what happens when you run in the snow with a wet hair,I Didn't even ask her what was the nightmare about damn those men in black can't leave her alone even in her sleep)
when the teacher gave them a break the kids went running to the detective boys: ne ne look who's here
and when they looked who's on the door they looked at each other
it was none other but akira ena haibara's admirer
mitsuhiko with an angry look on his face: what dose he want?
genta: should we deal with him since haibara is absent?
ayumi: why why I can't believe you guys he's here because he's worried about ai chan what a gentleman
conan looking at the boy who now approached them ( I don't know why but I don't like that boy AT ALL )
Akira: oh hey guys how's it going?
genta: we know why you are here just spit it akira
Akira: fine , is she okay? Did you talk to her?
Mitsuhiko: even if we did we wouldn't tell you
Ayumi: why of course I'd tell you akira san you look so worried about her
Akira: yeah I really am , you might not belive me but I really really like ai and i was thinking maybe I could get her address
Ayumi: oh of cou—
She was cut by conan who said: we cannot give you her address without her permission sorry
Mitsuhiko: yeah and I don't think it's right for you to visit her
Genta: you can see her when she comes to school you don't have to visit her

My my our little ai got her knights protecting her

Akira sighed and went back to his class with a hope of meeting her the next day
ayumi: conan kun why did you do that ? you broke his heart
Conan: ayumi chan it's not our right to give haibara's address to anyone, you know she doesn't like it
Ayumi: oh well I guess you're right

The day went by with no problems or any cases in genta's locker so they cleaned the class and went to visit little ai
when they entered the house they called for the professor who came from haibara's room when he heard the noise: ah finally you came i was getting worried about you, she asked about you twice
They asked the professor how is she and he told them that he woke up this morning and found her sleeping in the living room shivering and mumbling Incomprehensible words ,and sneezing the professor told them: it's my first time seeing ai chan like that it was really bad
the detective boys was heading upstairs when they saw her and she just looked so different than the ai haibara they knew .
She came with a box of tissues in her hand and a blanket over her , her hair was messy and her nose and cheeks red like a tomato her pajama was in a pale blue color that made her hair color stand out more her eyes were teary they looked at her with concerned eyes
:don't look at me like that I know I'm a mess but I can't care about that now
Ayumi: ai chan did you cry?
Haibara looked at her with her teary eyes: don't be silly usheda san No I didn't, it's because I can't stop sneezing oh kojema kun don't sit here I don't want you to catch my cold
She walked to the living room and lied there covering herself with the blanket and her tissue box in her hand
Conan walked to her and touched her forehead which made it worse her face was redder than before: hey stop moving i want to check if you have a fever Wow haibara that's bad
haibara moved his hand : I'm fine I just need to rest
The detective boys stayed in the professor's house for an hour then went to their home except for a certain boy with glasses who stayed for dinner
It was only him and haibara in the house since hakase went to the pharmacy
He looked at the sleeping figure that kept mumbling words and shivering (takk her cold is really bad I wander what is she dreaming about?, did she just say a deer?? Well that's weird)

In little ai's dream she was in the forest wearing a white dress and a flower crown on her hair walking happily between the trees singing a song she heard her mother sing when she was a baby , and then she saw a deer that stoped , looked at her ..
Haibara: well , hello there oh no don't run
She started running following the deer into the woods and she stopped , she saw him the detective and her protector who was standing his back facing her
: oh kudo kun what are yo...
her words stopped hanging on the edge of her lips when she saw him the beast in her nightmares she heard a gunshot and saw the detective falling to the ground she went running to his side putting his head in her lap he whispered to her ears a words she only can hear: forgive me I wasn't strong enough to protect you
She was crying and hugging him: don't leave me please don't do that to me you don't have the right to do this it's unfair I'm the one who that bullet is meant  for not you
She heard his heartbeat fading to the sky
lifting her head her eyes met the eyes of her foe with tears falling down she screamed at him: i will kill you
She heard his laugh and then he spoke to her in a tone that made her shiver: oh sherry sherry sherry how I missed you look at you disguised in a white dress did you think I can't find you ?did you think your knight will keep you safe from me? Oh sherry i was hunting you in the dark and I will keep hunting your dreams I will make your life a living hell .

She was looking at him with anger there , was a fire burning within her soul: you took my sister from me and now you took him too the only person who did nothing except believing in me and believing that I could have a new life a fresh start

This time his laugh was blended with a disgusting tone that made the hair in the back of her neck stand: oh what a silly little girl look at you imagining things , who would want you ? who would want a traitor? A killer ? A mad scientist? Look at yourself that's your true color

When she looked down at her dress it was red colored with the detective's blood
: yes sherry that's your real self you're one of us and once you're one of us you can't leave us behind, you can't have a new life you're a bad girl you're a criminal did you forget the people who died because of your drug? you're actually worse than us you're not an angel in a white dress you're the devil itself

: "nooooo" she woke up and found herself between conan's arms who was looking at her with concerned eyes "shh it's a nightmare it's nothing you're in your home safe and sound" said the detective
: no no he will come to me i know it and I wish he would stop at that he he will kill you i i saw him you're not safe too
she was shivering and pale her face was sweating and her hands trembling and cold
He felt so bad he felt guilt building up in his heart , it was the second time after her sister's death , it was the second time she cried between his arms  and showing her true face without masking it with that cool facade of hers , she for the second time let her feelings take over her and cried in front of him ( why can't i stop the nightmares why can't I save her in that cruel world ) : why didn't I save you earlier haibara?
she stopped shivering and looked at his eyes her tears threatening to fall : why would you save me shinchi ?

She didn't notice she said his first name but he did and his heart was beating so fast in his chest for a reason he himself didn't know why, he prayed she won't hear it
:I'm the devil in this story
my only purpose is to make sure you would go back to your normal life after the dark clouds fade away I will fade too
He looked at her again in the eye , he's angry: why would you say that you're my partner haibara do you understand? I thought i was clear with you there's no Sherlock without watson .

She smiled at him a rare smile he wished she would smile in that way always
She lied back again and kept mumbling incomprehensible words
When he touched her forehead : you're burning haibara you must be talking like that because of the fever
He looked at her the sadness is visible in his eyes: you're innocent haibara it wasn't your choice to be with them you deserve the happy ending in this story more than anyone.
he went to the kitchen to grab a towel and a bowl with cold water in it he stayed beside her all the night trying to lower her temperature with a promise in his heart of keeping her safe

Hi again I'm back sorry for not updating the story I just got busy and kinda had no ideas but I'm back and I'm working on the story since I'm on a vacation now ,anyway I'm sorry if you found the chapter boring we're just getting started and if you have any ideas please don't hesitate thank you all 💙
