CHAPTER-3

I awoke with the sun shining in my eyes and I could feel the heat in the air.

I was sweating under my duvet and I felt as if I didn’t get out now I would probably have a heat stroke or something.

I flipped the covers and nearly fell over a pile of clothes kept near the bed and grabbed the edge of my bed to steady myself.

I walked drowsily to the bathroom and brushed with my eyes closed.

After taking a shower I went inside my massive walk in closet and threw on a pair of blue washed out jeans and an oversized white t-shirt that said “READY OR NOT HERE I COME!”

After applying a bit of mascara to my brown eyes and tying my long brown hair in a high ponytail I grabbed my messenger bag and went downstairs where my mom was making waffles.

“Good morning!” I greeted my mom.

“Good morning ,baby. Did you sleep well ?” my mom asked.

“Yup” I said popping the p.

“All ready for school?” she asked handing me a plate.

“Yup” I said again plating some waffles and going to sit on the kitchen counter.

I loved the kitchen , it was the most beautiful room in the house.

It had light coloured wood flooring , with all the counters dark brown in colour.

It also had a massive double-door silver refrigerator and silver and white lights hanging from the ceiling.

There were 3 big floor- length windows which let in massive amounts of light and it was equipped with every appliance known to man .

My mom liked to keep her kitchen up to date with the latest technology, it was soo big that anybody could get lost in here.

“Rhea , darling . Can you do me a favour and go and wake Nick up? I know you are getting late but can you do it for me quickly?” mom asked.

“Sure , mom . I’ll be back in a jiffy.” I said and ran up the stairs to my brother’s room but not before grabbing a water –bottle that was kept on the counter.

Hey, I know that you are thinking that throwing water on my sleeping brother’s face was not probably the sweetest thing to do, but I was getting late and if I didn’t reach the bus-stop in time I was going to miss my bus.

So you see desperate times call for desperate measures or should I say some evil measures . Hehehehehe!

I went into my brother’s room it was as dark as a dungeon because of the thick black curtains.

No wonder he didn’t wake up even when the sun was shining at its brightest.

(A/N- the room on the right withe the black bed is Nick's room)

The walls were white and cream in color.

The double-bed was dark - black in color with a silky-looking black duvet which was right now twisted around my brother’s athletic body.

I flung open the thick black curtains while shouting “ Rise and shine , sleepyhead!”

He stirred a little and went back to sleeping.

Okay, this was it.

I unscrewed the cap , pulled back his covers and emptied the entire contents of the bottle over his head.

He sat upright and said all the while turning his head from side to side expecting to see somebody jump at him “What ? What happened? Is there a fire somewhere? Is everybody ok?”
