So on my "Duncan Appreciation" chapter, I mentioned that I wanted a duet between Duncan and Courtney in TDWT. So I wrote some (bad) lyrics...

I Don't Understand

Scene

After kicking him in the groin, Courtney angrily stands up and leaves the snack area in the plan, leaving Duncan with a spaghetti bowl dumped on his head.

Gwen walks over to help him get cleaned up. Everybody else awkwardly makes their way back to either first class or economy class.

In first class, Courtney is seated by a window. Heather walks in. "Are you ok?" She asks. Courtney shakes her head.

"Leave me alone," she mutters.

Heather just nods and quietly sits on the other side of the plane.

Courtney stares out the window and sighs heavily.

*Cue music

*Verse 1: Courtney
I feel so alone.
More than I've ever been
On this stupid show.
I wanna go home.

I'm sitting in first class.
The clouds are turning black.
My heart, it hurts so bad.
I can't believe this happened.

*Chorus: Courtney
I don't understand why he left me
Never got a chance to tell him
What I really meant...
I don't understand.

Scene

After getting cleaned up from the spaghetti mess on his head, Duncan walks back into the snack area and thinks about how he should've broken up with Courtney before kissing Gwen.

*Verse 2: Duncan
I feel so at home
More than I've ever been
On this stupid show
I don't wanna go.

They may vote me out
But I'm not gonna doubt
I've got exactly
what I want now.

*Chorus: Duncan
But I don't understand
Why she hates me for who I am
She'll go crazy, then she'll try to change me...
I don't understand.

*Bridge: Both
And I know he's/she's not sorry
For the way he/she treated me.
He/she only cares about the money.

We fell apart as quickly as we started.
He/she broke my heart.
I'm never going back to the way
I used to be...

Chorus: Both
I don't understand why we're fighting
It's pointless.
We both knew it was over before it began.
But still, I don't understand.

Courtney: I don't understand

Duncan: I don't understand

Courtney: I don't understand

Duncan: I don't understand

Both: I don't understand
