Hi everyone! This was my first fanfiction ever that I actually completed and am currently editing right now.
This fanfiction is mainly about Adam Levine. I don't mention many other of the band members. But this story also contains a made-up protagonist and a few other characters who I've made up.
I hope you read and enjoy! If there's any grammatical errors, please tell me because I'm currently editing and can use all the help I can find! Thank you!
The sky was a light gold that afternoon when I opened our back door. The sunset made me feel so content in that moment; careless and carefree. Walking through the backyard, the grass danced behind me in the wind and the dirt that surrounded me was creating a pool of dust.
Nature made me feel serene. I loved how in the world you can focus with your eyes on one thing, like a camera. Being outside on the field seemed to make me feel calm. The world around me was always peaceful and hopeful. Not many people lived around here, so nothing like a suburb. Miles and miles between our neigbors were large golden fields. We lived in the South and everyone in this town were practically farmers. Growing up, I had learned the basics from my family. I could grow corn, vegetables, and I knew how to raise chickens. I made lots of confetti eggs in my free time, which are chicken eggs that I like to fill with confetti. I use them for special occasions like parties.
My parents were out with friends that day so I was home alone since breakfast. My house, being extremely boring had no computers. I've been reading by my windowsill all day and eating potato chips that were store bought. My parents just bought them yesterday and I was grateful because they don't buy things from the store very often. Being alone gave me some time to think about things. Things like my future which I don't think I've really figured out yet.
My bare feet stood like a statue on the wet grass. My eyes are closed and there's no sound.
That's when I feel a step on the grass behind me. The sound was a crunch, and my heart was beating immediately. My eyes shot open, and when I turned I almost jumped.
"Anna!" John shouted. He stood parallel from the back door of my house and ran out to meet me. I was standing at the end of the field next to the dirt pavement by our back porch.
I breathe again in an orderly fashioned way to calm myself down. I had to remind myself it was only John. Anyone who came into my family's field could easily go on our back porch, and that scared me.
When John finally caught up to me I saw what he was wearing. He wore his light blue jumper like always with a different t-shirt than yesterday; blue. His dirty blonde hair was messy today and his hands are in his pockets when he asks, "Did I scare you again?" It was obvious he was holding back a grin.
"Yes! I'm home alone right now," I tell him.
"Then maybe you shouldn't be outside in a big field alone. Who do you think you are? Some girl in a Conjuring movie?" He grabs my arm and walks me back to the dirt pavement where I force his grip off me.
"The movies make it look like those kinds of things happen here..." I sigh.
Through the long field in front of us, the heights of the plants are incredibly high, but the pathways are clear and long. Being little, John and I went through it like a maze. We explored the different exits and entrances for weeks until my parents realized I knew the routes by heart and was ready to be trained to grow plants and all sorts of things. I think they wanted me to be here when they die so that I continued making the field grow. Because I was raised here though, I wanted something new. It was fun living at a farm because you're surrounded by nature and you learn life lessons through the things you're surrounded by. I barely ever went to the city and I had the curiosity now to see what life was like there.
