The windows were now impossible to see through, they were covered with cold rain drops running down the glass. Josh was sitting in Jen's kitchen, looking at the window. From the time he sat down there, it had gone from a blue sky to down pouring rain. He got ready at his house and then drove Jennifer here so she could get ready for the interview today. She was in the shower now.
Josh was playing this morning's event with Claudia back in his head. He couldn't believe there was that side to her; he thought she was completely nice up until today. How could she have nev-
His thoughts were interrupted by a shrill scream coming from the bathroom. He immediately ran there and flew the door open not pausing to think that Jen would probably be naked. Luckily her towel was wrapped around her wet self. She was frozen, staring in the direction of the sink with her mouth open. Josh followed her gaze to a yellow sticky note stuck the knob. It read, "bitch watch out" in sloppy handwriting. There was a disturbing smiley face drawn next to the words.
"Jennifer," Josh said in disbelief. "Was that there before you got in the shower?"
"Probably," Jen sputtered out. "I didn't see it."
"Well how the hell could it have gotten here?"
"I don't know. Can you call the police?"
"Yes," Josh told her. He left her to get ready and dialed 911. As the phone rang, he walked around the house trying to see if the house had been broken in to.
"911, what's your emergency?" a deep voice on the other end asked Josh.
"I am at my friends house and she found a note in the bathroom that said "bitch watch out" on it. My friend is Jennifer Lawrence," he told the man.
"Do you know who wrote it, who could have been in her house?"
"Well obviously we do not know who wrote it. And it doesn't look like her house was broken into," he said as he inspected the entrances and windows.
"Okay, well I'm sorry but there is nothing we can do. But if you see anything suspicious, call us back." Josh hung up and sat back down in the kitchen to stare at the window. After a while he thought to himself about who could have done that. Who could have gotten into her house without breaking anything? Before he could begin guessing Jennifer walked out of her room looking beautiful as ever. Oh, he wished he could kiss her but obviously this would not be a good time. Plus she was his best friend.
"What'd the police say?" she asked him with a concerned look on her face.
"They can't do anything but if something suspicious happens we should tell them. Come on, we have to meet Willow and Suzanne at the studio."
They walked out to his car through the freezing rain and made sure all the doors were locked. As Josh opened his car door he remembered.
Claudia still had a key to his house.
