"Wait! This is your house?" Siwoo almost dropped her jaw. J-Hope smiled, "Yup, I live here." He pulled her hand, "Let's go." They went inside.
"You're home." Jun greeted him.
"Jun, this is Siwoo. Siwoo this is Jun. He's my personal butler." He introduced him to her. "You have personal butler?!" she asked him in surprise. They laughed, "You still have a lot to see, Siwoo ssi." Jun nodded at her.
"I'll take her around the house. Tell Miho ahjumma to prepare drinks for the guest." He told Jun. He nodded before he disappeared into the kitchen.
J-Hope showed Siwoo the house. She would either look at him in surprise or went "Woah!"
"See that garden there? We called Fuji since it has a little bit of Japanese element." He smiled. "It's amazing." She smiled.
Just then a car drove into the garage.
"Uh? Someone's home?" Siwoo looked at J-Hope. He nodded uneasily. *they're home. I hope father won't do anything embarrassing.
In a minute, "We're home." A voice of a man spoke. "Hoseok-ah." A woman called.
A man and a woman appeared at the living room. "Mom, dad." J-Hope looked at them. "Who do we have here?" J-Hope's mother noticed Siwoo.
She bowed formally, "Hello."
"Her name is Siwoo. She's my friend and she lives nearby." J-Hope told his parents.
His mother looked at her. "She lives nearby? That must mean-" "Tell us what you want child." His father asked sternly.
"What?" Siwoo looked at him in surprise. "Tell us, how much do you want." He continued.
"Honey!" "Dad!" Both J-hope and his mother turned to him.
His father didn't get his eyes off her. "I know you're here for money!" "Dad!" J-Hope stood protectively in front of Siwoo.
"She's not that type of person! You don't know her yet!" J-Hope raised his voice.
He turned to his only son, "Don't try to teach me, Hoseok! I know exactly people like her. Low people like her only chase after people who have money!"
"Honey! Enough of that!" his wife went to him. She then pushed him into their room and they both disappeared without any sound.
J-Hope turned to Siwoo.
She had tears welled up in her eyes. J-Hope cupped her face, "Hey, look at me. I'm sorry okay? Forget what my father said earlier. I bet he's drunk." He explained to her.
Siwoo gently pushed J-Hope's hand away. "Is that how people like you think of people like me?" she smiled with a trickle of tears fell from her eyes.
"No, Siwoo. Please, let me explain it to you."
She snorted, "There's nothing to explain."
Siwoo went to the main entrance, "Good night." She bowed before she left.
J-Hope sat near the fireplace. He stared at the ashes whiled holding a glass of cold milk. It was two in the morning and he couldn't sleep. He was worried about Siwoo.
He suddenly felt a pressured on his shoulder. He turned around, "Mom."
She sat next to him. "You scared me." J-Hope looked at her.
"Couldn't sleep?" she asked and he nodded. "Are you still mad?" she asked but this time he didn't answer.
He sighed, "What dad said to her...." she looked at him, "I couldn't forgive him if anything happen to her."
"She means a lot to you, huh?" her mother said. J-Hope nodded.
"Want to tell me about her?" she asked him.
He sighed again. "She's the first girl me and my friends ever talked to. Before we were friends, she always got bullied by a girl named Serri. Serri always call her ugly. But Siwoo never fight back, not even once. She just let Serri bully her everyday. I thought that maybe she's the type who doesn't talk much. I heard her voice for the first time when she's talking to her good friend but he's no longer around. He went to America if I was not mistaken. Few days after, Serri tore Siwoo's sketch book into pieces. She cried like a little kid. Then we found out that the sketch book has the last memory of her mother so I guess her mother had passed away. I'm not sure about her father but what I know is that he loves Siwoo dearly. Last time, her father got into an accident and got injured. She used up her saving to pay for the bills. And now she's working at a cafe to find money for her and her father."
"She sounds good to me." His mother said.
"I know. That's why I was mad when dad said such thing to her. She's been humiliated enough in her life. I couldn't let dad do the same to her." He said.
"Hoseok-ah..." his mother called. He turned to her. "Do you love this girl?" she asked him.
"I...." he head was lowered, staring at the marble floor. "I don't know, mom." He looked at her. She smiled widely before she hugged him, "You're a grown up boy now. Listen to your heart. Who do you want to see right now?" she asked him. "I wish I could stay by her side to keep her safe, mom." He told her.
She let him go and cupped his face. "You know the answer to your heart now. Do what you want, Hoseok-ah. Keep her safe. Make her happy." She smiled.
"Mom, I have a confession to make." He looked at her. "What is it?" "Remember the card you gave?" J-Hope looked at her.
She snorted, "Not this again. I told you-" "No mom. Listen. I used it today. I went to Mrs. Lim's salon and....." J-hope told her mother how many times he swiped the card.
She smiled, "I told you didn't I? I didn't mean to show off but we have enough so it's okay if you're going to use it for her."
He smiled, "Thank you mom."
"You know, I couldn't argue with your father but just to let you know, I like that girl." She smiled.
J-Hope smiled even wider.
