Chapter 10

Anna's POV

I've been hiding in the Shrieking Shack for awhile now (probably about 2 months) and its been a lot better than I expected. There were lots if books in there, so I was still able to keep up with my studies, and I even became an animagus with the help of book and my dad, my animagus form is a fox. Also, me and my dad have become very close and I found out that I'm actually a lot like him. I've also found out about my family, the Blacks, that most of them are pure-blooded conceded gits and how much my father despises them.

"You okay Anna?" my father asked behind me. I didn't realize I was staring out the window for a while.

"Yeah, I'm fine. Can I ask a question?"

"Sure,"

"When I was kidnapped, they said I had special powers, what did they mean?" I asked, hoping he would know something about it.

"What can you do?" 

"I guess I can control the elements, talk to animals, read people's minds, and make people come where I am through dreams," I said.

"Do you know why the Blacks are one of the most popular pure-blooded families?"

"Um...the Ancient House of Black?" I guessed unsure.

"Yes, but there's something else many people don't know about. About every 300 years, a child in the Black family is born with a mix a special powers, powers that are very powerful and that people would kill for. So you can't tell anyone about them," he said almost in a whisper.

"Why's it such a big deal?"

"If the powers fell into the wrong hands, many people and places could be destroyed. And you should only use them when you really need to," he said.

"So, I can't even tell-"

"You can't tell anybody," he said sternly.

"Okay," I said. I guess it was kind of cool that I had these powers, but freaky at the same time.
