Detention

Cora's POV

The rest of the day went by like a breeze. I did very well in the rest of my classes. Now it's 4:21 and I'm in my room about to head to detention.

"Come on Abby let's walk her to detention," Devin said getting off of her bed.

"Ok," Abby said smiling I've gotten closer to them then I thought I would in just a day.

When we got there I walked in to see everyone on different sides of the classroom glaring at each other. "Everyone looks like there gonna kill each other," Devin said laughing which made me and Abby laugh along. Everyone in the class room looked at me.

"I'll see you guys tonight," I smiled and walked in the class room. I sat on the side of the Draco, Gregory, and Pansy but on the far end so I was away from everyone. I knew I had to sit on the side with my house but I didn't want Ron, Hermione, and Harry to be mad.

"You will work quietly for the two hours you are here, no teachers need assistance so you are stuck in this class room," Severus said. I pulled out my Potions homework that he gave us and started to work on it.

After I finished all my homework I took out my book and started working on it. That fight today was really giving me an idea for a spell. "What if it breaks apart a fight, and throws them both back?" I thought to myself. I would need to practice it and make the spell.

(Also I don't think that's a spell but who knows😂)

I walked up to Severus "Professor Snape, can I talk to you out in the hall for a minute?" I asked him he just nodded and we got up.

"Is there anywhere I could practice my new spells and potions?" I asked as he shut the door.

"Yes, you could practice in here on certain days and use that nifty spell that you made to make sure no one comes in, because I have all the supplies for potions that you are welcome to use."

"Thank you Severus." I smiled and gave him a hug he stiffened up but hugged back a little bit.

"If you don't mind me asking Cora what spell are you working on, nothing dangerous I assume?" He asked.

"No, actually something to prevent danger, that fight today really got to me. I'm working on something to separate people from fighting and push them back instead of someone getting in the way and getting hurt in the process."

"I thought the Levitating spell worked just fine today."

"Yeah but they could still reach the other person as they float and hurt them still, this way no one will be able to reach each other."

"Very clever Cora,  tomorrow at around 5 you are welcome to come down here the door will be unlocked and I will notify the teachers about your whereabouts, I'm also sorry about detention I can't have people thinking that it's ok to use magic in my class room."

"It's ok and thank you again Severus." I smiled one last time before walking back inside with him right behind me.

After about 10 more minutes Severus stood up "I'll be back, stay quiet," he said and walked out the door which I think was odd. I looked over at everyone and just noticed that Hermione had a black eye I didn't care the consequences I wanted to help. I walked over to her and she just looked up at me and smiled. I took out my wand and pointed at her black eye "Please don't move, Episkey." Her eye healed it only works for small injuries like her eye.

"Thanks Cora!" She exclaimed and got up and gave me a big hug.

"How do you know all the advanced stuff? We don't lean that spell till sixth year," Harry asked.

"That's a question for another time." I laughed because I don't think I should tell them all right now that the book gives me all the spells because my dad had it before and filled it out with all the spells and potions that already exist. I just kept filling it out with ones I'm working on. His book of his own spells and potions are somewhere I just don't know where.

"My question is why does Professor Snape like the Half-Blood," Pansy scoffed.

I turned around and glared at her. "Do you wanna see what other spells I know," I gave her an evil looking smile.

"Try me bit-."

"Thats enough Pansy!" Draco raised his voice. Everyone looked at him shocked. When profferer Snape walked in.

"Mr. Malfoy, Miss. Blade, may I talk to both of you in the hall." I nodded then we all walked out for the second time in like 20 minutes.

"Draco thank you for standing up for Cora, also Cora thank you for healing Miss. Granger, but you have to stay an hour at four a clock tomorrow, I have some cleaning that needs to be done and I think you too could help me with that, because you broke my rules."

"Yes that's ok Professor," I smiled at him because I could just stay after the four a clock and work on my spell. We walked back inside and sat down.

Detention was over and I was the first one out the door. I put my headphones in and turned on COPYCAT by Billie Eilish and I started humming along.

I was almost at Slytherin common room when I heard people behind me. I turned around to see Draco with his two friends. I just turned my music up loud so I couldn't hear them if they tried to talk to me. I said the password and walked in as they were right behind me. I heard one of them say something but I couldn't hear so I just walked up to my room. "I wish Draco wasn't ignoring me I know we only talked for like two minutes this morning but it was a good two minutes. I wonder why he's ignoring me though hopefully I didn't do anything." I thought as I walked in my room.

Draco's POV

I don't know what took over when I yelled at Parkinson earlier today. We were walking behind her when I noticed she had her headphones in so she probably couldn't hear. "The Half-Blood make me float today what an ass hole, right guys?" Parkinson said.

"Yeah," Goyle said. I just rolled my eyes at her comment as I saw Cora walk up the stairs. I walked up to my room that I had to myself.

"What has gotten into me?" I thought to myself as I sat on my bed.
