That night

Lena shifted every so often in her sleep while Kara slept soundlessly in the bed beside her. Her head whipped from side to side. "Lex, no, please." She breathed.

"You're hiding something, Lena, I know you are." Lex said, smirking menacingly. "What is it?"

"I'm not hiding anything." Lena said. "Please let me go."

"You don't fool me, Lena." Lex said, his eyes conveyed the craziness within. "Maybe a night in the hut will set you straight."

"No, Lex, please." Lena begged, putting her hands up in defence and revealing to Lex her slightly rounded stomach.

Lex smirked again. "I knew it. My baby sister is pregnant." He grinned. "I'm coming for your baby, Lena."

Lena began running.

Lex chased her.

Through the yard of their childhood home and into the trees surrounding their house.

Lena stopped after a while to catch her breath. She looked up. Lost. She was lost. Panic set in and she covered her stomach with her hand.

"Oh, Lena why did you run?" Lillian's voice filled the air, travelling through the wind and sending a cold shiver down Lena's body as it passed through her.

Gulping, Lena began running again, despite the shortness of breath she felt. She just knew she had to run and save this baby from the life she had as a child.

Suddenly, Lena was in an abandoned warehouse. Still running, she tripped over something hard and landed face first onto the hard floor. She groaned and looked at what she had tripped over.

Kara! The blonde was pale and she had green veins all over her body. Kryptonite.

"Kara!" Lena shook the blonde's shoulder. "Kara! Wake up! Please!"

Lex and Lillian suddenly appeared.

"You see, Lena, you can't escape your fate or your family." Lillian smirked. She held up a kryptonite gun. "One shot from this in the heart and your girl is dead."

"Choose, your baby or your girl." Lex growled.

Lena shook her head. "No!"

Lillian set the gun.

"Wrong answer." Lex snarled.

Lena tensed. "No, please!"

Lillian pulled the trigger and BANG!

"No! Kara!" Lena woke from her slumber with a start. She sat bolt upright on the bed, dripping with sweat and shaking. She was breathing heavily, almost panting like an animal in scorching heat. Her hair was messy and stuck to her face because of the sweat. Her hands immediately went to her stomach, her eyes traveling to Kara who was waking from her slumber, disrupted by Lena's sudden movements on the bed.

"Lena?" Kara's tired voice filled the room. She sat up and looked at her fiancé worriedly. "What's wrong?"

Lena met Kara's eyes. She swallowed. "It was just a nightmare. You can go back to sleep." She whispered."

"That wasn't just a nightmare." Kara shook her head. "What's wrong?" She insisted that Lena tell her what was wrong.

"I promise, it was nothing." Lena said. She slowly moved to get off the bed. "I need to get a drink and then take a shower." She left the room before Kara could argue.
