"Stupid fucking asthma," Eddie mumbled to himself while riding his bike home from school. Clouds covered the sky, and small raindrops fell around him. If it wasn't for having an attack, he would be home by now. He wouldn't get drenched by the rain. He pedaled as fast as he could down the streets of Derry. Not caring that his knees burned with pain or he felt like he was going to throw up. He just wanted to enjoy the rain from inside his room.A droplet landed right on his small speckled nose and splashed in his eye. Just a block away come on! He swiftly turned onto his street and threw his bike into his lawn. He ran towards the door to his home and busted inside.
"Oh! Eddie! Calm down won't you? You could hurt yourself being that reckless!" His mother Sonia exclaimed. But Eddie kept running up the stairs into his room and flopped down on his bed. He weakly opened his fanny pack and brought his inhaler to his mouth. He forced the button down for a puff of air. He didn't really need it, but he didn't want to take any chances. His breathing steadied.
He shot up and looked out his window. It was now pouring. He turned to see his knees, scraped from falling off of his bike. He went back into his fanny pack and pulled out his first aid kit. With how he takes care of them, the scrapes will be gone in no time. He wished that he had been riding home with the other Losers today. God, he hated that they were called that, but it wasn't the worst thing he had been called. It didn't bother him as much.
"Hey Eddie bear! You seemed a little upset and didn't even tell your mom hi! Are you alright sweetie?" His mom obviously hadn't even moved from her recliner. Why would she?
"Yeah I'm fine Mommy! I was just soaked and didn't want to catch hypothermia!" He lied. The real problem was he wanted to get away from Henry Bowers. He had been chasing him and throwing names at him while he was riding home. He didn't care until he started throwing things at him. Eddie tried to speed up, but of course he couldn't go faster than the car. All of the commotion from how fast he was going and Bowers interrogating him, caused him to have an asthma attack. He gasped for air but it felt like his lungs were collapsing. He fell to the ground as he was pulling out his inhaler. As he took a puff, Henry leaped out of the car and ran to Eddie.
"What's the matter wheezy? Can't breathe?" Henry brought his foot back and nailed it onto the bike. He took out his pocket knife and made long cuts along the bike. Eddie wanted to get up. No, he couldn't get up. He hopelessly laid on the sidewalk letting Henry do whatever he desired.
The knife went to the small boys throat. Eddie whimpered in fear. "Next time I catch you, it won't be the bike girly boy." Henry laughed his way to the car and drove off.
But now Eddie is sitting in his room. All alone with fear of what might happen to him. It could be tomorrow with all that he knows. He really fucking hates Bowers, and how he treats people without actually knowing them. But what if Bowers actually knew who Eddie was? He probably be dead on that sidewalk today if he did.~
