I pull into the driveway of Hero's house not expecting this many people to have already arrived. The music coming from the loud bass speakers vibrates off of the marble floors as I walk in.

This house sure looks a lot different with this many people crowding it. Once I find the kitchen I come to witness topless girls dancing on top of the tables. A couple jocks are cheering them on in return. I quickly sheer my eyes away and see the back of Hero's head.

I don't think it's him at first glance because this persons actually smiling and laughing. His head turns and his eyes land on me, gesturing me over. The closer I get the more I begin to understand, he's drunk. Last time I checked Hero was a grumpy drunk but not this time?

"You're finally here." He says. "Can you hold this?"

I grab his red solo cup and watch him carefully help Justin do a keg stand. I take a drink from the cup and instantly regret it, I swallow before it burns my throat any longer.

"Hey Ella, oh my gosh Justin, again seriously?" Danielle shouts at him. "He's going to be drunk out of his mimd before tonight ends."

"The usual." I casually shrug and Danielle nods in agreement.

Once Justin's back on his feet he almost falls over which causes the crowd to laugh. I'm too sober to laugh at him. I'm only thinking about the horrible hangover he's in for.

"I'll go next." I say stepping forward, I look at Hero who looks surprised. "Step back will you?"

Hero smirks and nods his head.

I swiftly put my two hands around the keg and do a handstand. I guess being a cheerleader came in handy. Danielle holds the tap as I drink down the beer while everyone starts counting. Before it can get any further than fifteen seconds I get back on my feet and grab onto Hero to catch my balance.

"Impressive." He teases.

"There's a lot more where that came from." I whisper in his ear.

As the party carried on it seemed to get crazier by the minute and with all of the delicate and expensive things in this house, most of it had been smashed or thrown outside.

Hero didn't seem to care which worried me.

"Do you want another beer?" Hero asks.

"Sure." I shrug.

"Cool, can you go get us some?"

I look at him in disbelief.

He starts to laugh. "I'm kidding."

"Ha ha." I mock a laugh.

"Come with me." He reaches for my hand and I take it. Hero leads me through the crowd until we stop in the kitchen. Luckily the toppless girls have resorted to the backyard.

"You're not having fun." He tells me while pouring our drinks. "It's because my jokes are lame?"

"Well in all honesty your jokes have always been lame." I laugh. "But no that's not why, I'm just not in a party mood."

I grab ahold of my cup and take a sip.

"Yeah I wasn't in a party mood either, until my own mother abandoned me and then Henry killed himself." Hero frowns before drinking from his cup.

"Remember when Wyatt died?" I ask.

Hero looks at me and nods in response.

"You told me I didn't need the alcohol or drugs and now I think you need to take your own advice." I remind him. "It's only going to eat away at you."
