Chapter Six: Transformation

"No way" I gasped.

That can't be right, she couldn't have been one.

'It's true girls she was a magical girl' Kyubey thought.

We all (except for Homura) jumped back. I forgot he could read minds.

'What' Etsuko screamed.

'That's right, She didn't associate with us. I'm pretty sure she didn't know about us either' Homura informed.

' She was a brave magical girl, she lasted very long. Not the longest I've seen but Kong's Kyubey sounded very nonchalantly.

'How can you be so cool with this' Etsuko shouted.

I don't understand either, how can someone 've so nonchalant about a death and of someone you've known for a long time. I just don't get it.

'How did she die' Shinju asked rather serious.

Shinju wasn't sad, I know we only knew her for one day but she was still out teacher. How did she die?

'Well that I don't know. it could've been a witch or another magical girl' Kyubey answered.

'Another Magical' Etsuko, Shinju, and I thought simultaneously.

"Hey you two girls sit down" the man shouted pointing at Homura and I.

We got back to our seats without protesting.

'Lets all talk on the roof at break Kay' Shinju says, 'someone tell Mami too'.

'Already got it' Mami sounded cheerful like always. 'I heard the whole conversation. That's the good thing about this, it really had no pilot's

'Agreed' I sigh, I almost had a heart attack when I heard Mami's voice.

Class went by slow. It seems like the guy who came I. is our new teacher Mr. Shido. No one seemed to be bothered by the death of our teacher, well none of the students in this class.

Students that had her before cried. The announcements even spoke of it. My heart sank a little bit.

At break I rushed out of the class with Homura, Shinju,  and Etsuko.  Ame called for me but I couldn't talk to her, not now anyway.

We all met Mami on the roof. She greeted us with a big smile then seriousness washed over her face.

"Now let's talk. What's this about her maybe getting killed by a another magical girl" Etsuko wanted to get right to the point. Her arms were crossed over her chest.

"Well you see, like I told you, you need grief seeds to use your magic. Some magical girls aren't friends. They fight for them and sometimes kill each other. We are the only ones in the area other than Kyouko but she'd never" Mami stopped, her eyes looked shiny.

"I'm pretty sure it wasn't Kyouko which means there is a new magical girl in the area" Homura thought aloud. "Kyubey do you know about any new girls in the area"?

"Yes I do. I actually know a few magical girls in the area that you don't know about but only one could really be the culprit" we waited as Kyubey spoke. " Namiko Tadiya".

"Namiko Tadiya" Mami thought, "I've never heard of her".

"I actually talked to her last night. We go way back" Kyubey spoke as if he were talking about an old friend.

"Way back, about how far" Etsuko asked sounding bored.

"She's from the medieval times".

"What" I shouted.

"No way" Etsuko said with disbelief. "There were magical girls that far back"?

"Magical girls have been in this planet since their were humans. They've existed for a very long time".

"How did a magical like that last this long and why would she kill teach" Homura was puzzled. So was I, did it have to do with her wish?

"There have been several magical girl deaths lately" we hear an unfamiliar voice say.

I turn my head, a long red haired girl walked towards us. She was munching on a red juicy apple.

"Kyouko" Mami said, clarifying who the mysterious girl was.

"It's actually been going in for weeks now. I've been investigating, I thought maybe it was just that witches were getting harder but I was wrong. The deaths were more frequent". She took a bite of her apple.

"And you have no idea why she would be doing this" Shinju asked?

"Not a clue".

"Well while you guys are training today we'll keep our guard up" Mami insured.

That's right, it's Shinju and my first day as magical girls. I've been caught up in this I forgot about it. I won't just have to worry about witches I'll have to worry for other magical girls especially Namiko.

Right after school ended we started the hunt. Homura  went off to find more clues on Namiko, Kyouko and Kyubey joined her. Even though Etsuko wasn't a magical girl like me and Shinju she still tagged along. She wasn't sure if she wanted to be one or not so she will join us for a while.

We followed Mami. He soul gem glowed brightly, we were getting close to a witch. The first time I fight it will be with a witch. Mami said to watch her and then join in. My heart w as pounding as it glowed brighter. She stopped walking.

"What is it Mami" I asked her.

"It's a witch" the ground below our feet began to shift and the scenery was changing. "Get ready we are entering a labyrinth".

Shinju clinged to me as we arrived into the labyrinth. It was weird to look at, very colorful. Things looked unreal and like it was hand stitched. What the heck, so this is a witches labyrinth.

"Girls it will best to transform now" Mami said and with that Mami transformed. She looked like the ones in my manga.

Next up was Shinju and I. We held hands and transformed together. I felt a new feeling touch my body and I felt lighter on my feet.

After I did I looked at Shinju. She was in a yellow dress. She wore a tiara on her head and she looked as elegant as a princess at a ball.

Then I checked myself out. I wore a strapless pink top that showed my stomach and a pair of pink shorts. in the back of the shirt it was longer. I had two dark pink fingerless gloves. I also had a dark pink bow in my hair holding it all to one side.

"Holy cow. I'm truly a magical girl" I couldn't say anything else. I can't even believe what I am looking at. This is me and I am a magical girl.
