Chapter Seven: The Other Magical Girl

I can't believe I am an actual magical girl, I know I've said this about a million times but I just can't believe my eyes.

"Let's go, Etsuko stay close to us okay" Mami says.

We shake our heads as we follow her deeper and deeper into the labyrinth. As we got closer the the witch I shook more and more. With anticipation and fear. What if I can't handle this after all?

I feel something grab my hand. I look at my hand then up. Mami clenched it an smiled at me.

"It's fine to be scared. And don't worry nothing will happen to you, I promise" she gave my hand another small squeeze and smile.

My heart warmed up and I gave her a smile back.

"Thanks Mami".

We gazed at each other as we held hands. I forgot how scared I was and my hand stopped shaking.

"Hey Mami" I hear Shinju cry. We look ahead. Beast canes out of nowhere and were heading straight for us.

"What the heck" Etsuko shouted.

"Shinju I'm coming, Yume stay here and protect Etsuko" Mami ordered.

"Aye" I say.

Mami rushes off to take care of Shinju while I stand there in front of Etsuko. Mami was holding the monsters off of Shinju with guns.

"How did she get those" Etsuko asked.

I shook my head as I watched her fight. She was amazing, she was like a real magical girl. I may have the outfit but that doesn't mean anything if I can't fight. I have to fight to become one.

"Yume look out" Etsuko yelped.

In front of me was a monster. It was in the shape of a pin cushion and it held a needle up. I couldn't move, my body was completely frozen.

"Help" I whispered, "someone help me".

My knees shook as I stared at it. I can't move, my body won't move.

"Geez move out of the way you idiot" I hear a familiar voice say form behind me.

I was still frozen from the monster in front of me I couldn't move. A spike whip came from behind me and killed the monster. I fell to my knees and grabbed my heart. During that whole thing I felt like I couldn't breath.

"Yume" Etsuko rushes to my side. I see a shadow look over me.

"Kohaku" she gasped.

"Kohaku?" I looked into see the dark brown haired blue eyes girl looking over me.

What is she doing here and why is she dressed like that? Don't tell me she is a magical girl to. She glared down at me.

"Oh thank you Kohaku-san" Mami says approaching her.

Did she know she was a magical girl, what is going on?

"What have I said just call me Kohaku" she blushed then went back to her serious expression, "So these are the new magical girls"?

"You seem like you know them Kohaku-san" Mami says teasingly.

"I've seen them around that's all" she blushed again, then looked at Etsuko. "What the hell, your a magical girl"?

"Eh" Etsuko looked frightened as Kohaku growled, "huh, no"

Kohaku took a deep breath then turned an icy gaze at Shinju and me. She held her hand out, I took it as she hoisted me up.

"So you guys fell for the trick too" she said.

"Trick" Shinju says.

"What do you mean by trick" Etsuko asked concerned.

"The cute little animal asks you 'oh do you want to be a magical girl, I can grant any wish for you if you want'

and you say 'sure'. That trick" she crossed her arm's over her chest.

We give her clueless looks. She has to be crazy, this was my dream.

"What you guys seriously have no clue. Ha, geez you guys are so dumb" Kohaku was in between laughing and yelling at us. "You guys are in for a rude awakening when you find out the truth. Then you'll wish to be back to normal". She looked at Etsuko again and placed her hand on her shoulder. "Promise me Etsuko for no reason you will not become a magical girl".

Etsuko nodded. Kohaku sighed again.

"So why are you here" Mami said changing the subject.

"Oh yeah I wanted to check out the new girls" She carelessly through her arm's behind her head. "You know me. Always being noisy".

Mami laughed, "oh yes I know that".

"Oi Mami did you teach them how to summon their weapons".

"Oh I guess that slipped my mind" she hummed.

"Might want to teach them, I have a feeling you'll need all the help you can get. Even with me to help you".

Mami changes her look. She looked more serious.

"Well your feelings have always worked out in the past" she claps her hands together making me jump, "okay girls change in our plans. You'll be fighting your first witch today".

What! No way, I wasn't even able to defeat those beasts, how will I be able to kill a witch. I clenched my fists.

"It's too late to go back now" Shinju says looking into my eyes.

I sigh "I know" I use all my power to be brave. I remember Mami's smile, it's made me feel powerful and brave. The way she fought without fear, I want to do that.

Mami explains how we do it.

"You got it guys" she asked.

"Yes" I say confidently.

I take a deep breath and with all my power I try to summon it. It's sleeps with inside me. The weapon that speaks to me.

"I did, wow I did I" I could here Shinju cheer.

I open my eyes to look at her. She was holding two, big, long sabers. They shine like gold. I took a look at my hands, they felt heavy. I looked down to see two shiny pick numchucks.

"These...these are mine" I whispered.

I clenched them in my hands and I could feel the power from them flow into me. I felt strong, confident and ready for anything.

"Let's go" Mami said.

We all nodded as we became back on track. On the way there we into a few more of those things. We took them out easily. They we stopped at a big dark violet door. It sparkled and shimmered. I took a big gulp.

"Etsuko, stay back while we fight" Kohaku orders.

Etsuko nods. We all stand and stare at the door. I take a look at Shinju, she is clenching her saber tightly.

"You ready guys" Mami asked.

"Ready" Kohaku answers.

"R-ready" Shinju stammers.

Mami shoots a glance at me. Kohaku and Shinju look Bach at me too. Right next to me Etsuko turns to me. I take a deep breath. Now or never.

"Ready" I say.

Mami smiles then turns to the door and opens it to reveal the witch.
