Chapter Eight: The First Battle

There she was, right in front of my eyes. The room was huge and white. The walls moved, gears a faint blue moved on them. I need to focused and be brave, one wrong move and I'm done.

She was big, her head of a teddy bear dressed up like a princess. We entered the room. Right away Etsuko hid to stay out of the way. I clenched my numchucks tightly waiting for her to try and attack first. The other girls did so as well.

The witch stood up and quickly leaped into the air, she was coming down on her stomach. We all jumped as she hit the floor. Mami summoned her weapon and began to shoot at it. It turned towards her and ran after her.

Kohaku used her whip to grab one of its legs and trip it. Now Shinju went after it. With the two sabers she ran at the witch but it quickly got up and swung at her.

With its giant paw it smacked her. She flew into the wall.

"Shinju" Etsuko screamed.

Suddenly I hear another scream. The bear swung Kohaku around with its foot. She held onto her whip as she was being spun around. It flung her into the air and she landed so hard the ground had cracks. The witch brought it's foot over to her and had it hovering over her.

"Koha-" I try to run to her but something has my arm. I turn back to see a giant piece of thread coiling itself around my arm. Another my right leg and then my left leg.

It's foot came down, luckily Mami shot it getting it's attention. I fell onto my stomach and was being quickly dragged away. Then a another piece of thread held me down while two pin needles were above me.

"Oh no you don't" Shinju says. She slices the string and I am released.

"Thanks" I said.

She nodded and we both headed back over to the witch. It seemed like she had taken some damage but Mami and Kohaku having a hard time trying to dodge her attacks.

Mami shot at it from a distance keeping it's attention while Kohaku struck it. Shinju instinctively ran towards it and sliced one of its leg. Stuffing came pouring out.

What can I do, is there anything I really can do? I thought for a moment then took a deep breath. I ran towards Mami.

"Mami get its attention over here so I have a clear shot at its face" I instructed. She nodded and shot at the side of its face. It turned and looked at us.

"Shinju when I saw 'now' go for its neck got me" I yelled. She nodded as well.

She nodded and shot at the side of its face. It turned and looked at us. Now it was my turn I ran towards the front of it and stopped. It was concentrated on Mami which means I can't mess this up.

It threw one swing at me and that was my chance. Dust blinded it's vision for a moment. I jumped into the air as it's paw hit the ground.

"Up here" I screamed with all my might.

It looked up, I had my numchucks behind my head as I got closer to its face my heart sped up. And as soon as I could see my reflection in its eyes my heart stopped. I swung at its shiny black eyes hoping it wouldn't be able to see anymore. It fell to the ground making the ground shake and dust form around it.

"Now" I shouted!

Shinju came out of the dust at light speed and with all her strength she sliced it's neck with her sabers. The witches head came off and the world began to shift.

"We did it" I sighed. I laid back on the body of the bear and took a deep long breath of air. Oh could feel sweat cooling me off.

The world turned back to normal and the witch and was resting disappeared. I fell onto the hard cold ground. I groaned as I got up, rubbing my head.

"You guys did it" Etsuko cheered as she ran towards us. I got up and she heavily embraced me. I stumbled as she hugged me.

"Good job girls" Mami said as she picked up something black.

"Is that a grief seed" I asked.

"Mhm" she hummed. "You two did a very good job I'm proud of you. I think you deserve this" she tosses the grief seed into Shinju's hands.

She fumbles a bit trying not to drop it.

"That plan was pretty good, Yume" Kohaku spoke looking at the ground scratching her head.

I blushed a bit as she said it. She thinks I did well.

"Hey" she snaps "Don't get used to me saying that".

I laughed, we transformed back into our normal clothes. I gave out a small sigh.

"Hey how about a cake or two to celebrate" Mami suggested.

"Definitely" Shinju jumped.

"I second that" Etsuko agrees taking one arm off if me.

"I know the best place to get it to. It's on the house this time but only this once" Kohaku giggled.

She took Mami's hand and dragged her along. Shinju followed and so did Etsuko leaving me standing there. Is this really happening, or is this a dream? I actually have friends for the first time and also I am magical girl. This has to be a dream it can't be real.

"Hey Yume you coming" Etsuko shouted waving an arm in the arm.

I snapped out of my thoughts and looked at them. They weren't that far away from where I was.

"Yeah coming" I ran up to Etsuko and we presumed walking. "Sorry I got lost in thought".

"It's fine" Etsuko gave me a warm smile and a thumbs up. She threw her arm over my shoulder. My heart began to speed up.

Namiko POV

Look at them all down there. Smiles and laughter, not knowing what is really going on. It almost breaks my heart, almost. They pain these girls will be going through when really do find out what is going is worse.

It doesn't matter though, I will save them before they do.

"Don't worry about it, I'll end you suffering".

"Talking to yourself again, Nami" Kyubey appears next to me.

"Where have you been" I didn't stop looking at the girls below.

"Just out looking for you".

"For me, why"?

"The girls know about the death of Asakai Souma".

I glared at Kyubey, how the hell did they know.

'It was their teacher, also another girl knew who she was' Kyubey thought.

Damn he read my mind again. I hate when he does that.

'Anyway who knows'?

'I cannot tell you, but just to let you know that there are people looking for you'.

'It's to be Kyubey, you need not worry. It'll all be fine'. I bent down and rubbed his fur.

Yes it'll all be fine. I'll release these girls from you one by one.
