This is one of my more recent stories actually! I love reading Webtoons so that has been one of my main inspirations when it comes to my recent ideas. Below is a little summary >>

~ ~ ~

When the majority of the human race suddenly turns into demons, creatures who have lost all thought or sense of will, survivors of this epidemic are forced to use the very cause of the issue to fight back: Remnants. With the power of Remnants, the remaining humans are able to genetically modify their DNA in order to allow them to use supernatural abilities. With this power begins the war between humans and demons, changing the world forever.

Prologue

"Ender!" The small human like creature yelled at the top of her lungs, attempting to overshadow the deafening screams that rang throughout the burning city. She opened her mouth in order to call out his name again, only to be shot in the heart by a bullet before any sound could make its way out.

"N-No!" Ender reached towards his bleeding friend, who laid limp against the crimson stained concrete. Just as his fingers glimpsed over the girl's arm, a heavy hand grabbed Ender's leg, pulling him in the opposite direction. "L-Let go of me!" Ender hissed at the soldier who dragged him away from his childhood friend, a woman with long black hair tied into a messy bun, her bangs falling over her piercing gaze. Ender continued to glare at the soldier, using his pointed nails to dig into the woman's arm, allowing droplets of blood to seep through her skin.

"Shit! Shut the fuck up, you damn monster!" The woman flinged the boy off her arm and hurriedly stabbed a tranquilizer shot into his neck before turning to her colleague, a young man who heaved dead corpses into the back of a truck. "Damn! This thing can still talk! Is that even possible?!"

Her colleague scratched his head in confusion, unable to come up with a proper answer. "N-Not that I heard of."

"Give him to the special forces then! We can't have demons with human intelligence running around like dogs!"

"R-Right!" The man scrambled to grab the walkie talkie hooked onto his jeans, turning the dial at the top of the device to catch a signal. A moment after fiddling with the walkie talkie, a voice finally came through the pit of static, asking him to state his name and station.

"Alessio Cormick from Station A11! We need backup over at Main Street! A monster who has kept his memories has appeared!" The man paused and listened in before putting the device back onto his jeans.

"So, what did they say?" The woman asked the man named Alessio.

"They said that they're sending immediate help." Alessio glanced down at the limp bodies of Ender and his friend. "How do you think these two are somehow special from the rest, Olivia?"

Olivia grimaced at the question. "Don't know. Don't care. They're monsters, and that's all they'll ever be."
