Hinata was bored out of his mind. Sure he loved volleyball but a part of him was really chipping away at his patience. Daichi then announced that practice was over and he shot up.

He changed, he packed, and he got ready to leave. He wanted fun, and he wanted entertainment now. Surely there would be a son of a bitch somewhere walking around.

He told himself to slow down, that his habits weren't so great. He mentally shrugged off the feeling, his counterpart taking over, a manifestation of his own boredom.

Finally, he found his target.

Meanwhile, Sugawara and Daichi were still talking about Kageyama.

"Look, just drop it okay? It's fine, I'm sure Kageyama is just fine!" Daichi slapped the back of his teammate, assuring him that nothing was out of the ordinary.

Sugawara opened his mouth the protest, yet again, but decided there was no way to convince his captain. Maybe he was wrong? Maybe Daichi was right all along, and that he was simply overreacting.

He quietly sighed.

'I really hope that's the case.'

~~

"I'm home!" Hinata shouted inside the empty home, his shirt still bloodied. He simply chuckled. "Right, no one's home." He took off his clothes and placed them in the bathtub as he grabbed a bottle. Inside was a mixture of all sorts of substances, a perfect mixture to take out stains. He looked down at his stained white shirt.

'It's such a pretty color.'

When he was finished washing himself and his clothes, he put on new clothes and he left the newly washed ones outside to dry, leaving for his room. Hinata opened his closet door, and moved his clothes to the side, tapping the back door, revealing his weapons. He grabbed his knife and wiped away any moisture, grabbed a honer, and sharpened it. He began to grin as he thought back at the screams of that old bastard who cheated.

He put everything back, closed his closet door, and lied down on his back on his bed. He sighed, content. He laughed and laughed until his counterpart slowly slid back. As he continued to laugh, he tried to hold back his tears, and he tore at his hair, trying to bring back his sanity.

"Why did you do that?"

~~

"Yo, Kageyama." A man greeted the boy at the airport. Kageyama simply walked passed, not wanting to interact with his troublesome partner.

Well, "ex" partner.

"Eh, come on! You gotta at least acknowledge my existence." Kageyama continued to walk as he faced the opposing direction of the man. As the other continued to annoy the setter, he couldn't help but finally give in.

"What, you asshole!" The other simply pouted.

"So you finally forgot my name you jerk." The man pretended to cry as Kageyama tried with all his might not to hit the man.

"Of course I didn't forget your name Kurugi."

"Kuragi," he corrected.

"Kuragi." He kept the straight face as he pretended he didn't make a mistake. There was a moment of silence before Kuragi laughed.

"I, you," he laughed in between. "You idiot!"

"Shut up!" Kageyama responded, trying to keep his dignity intact. "Why are you here anyway, we don't work together anymore, there's no need to meet up."

Kuragi cleared his throat. "Well," he started off. "The boss wants to see you."

Kuragi was an interesting man. Of course, he was affiliated with the mafia as well as Kageyama, but they started off together, resulting in an eventual partnership. It soon ended after Kageyama started to take more offers as an assassin and leaving behind his hitman ways.

But he never abandoned the family.

"Why?" He immediately responded in an unamused yet questioning tone. The boss never wanted to see him unless it was important.

"Got a case. A good one, hehe..." Kuragi simply chuckled. "Don't worry, he won't do anything bad. He really does want to just talk about this new case we have. It's kind of funny." The man continued to chuckle, but Kageyama was left concerned. His partner was a bit off in the head.

That was one reason why he left him.

"Okay okay, fine. I'll go." Kageyama finally agreed, his friend leading the way.

~~

"You wanted to see me?" The setter dropped his bags on the floor, taking a seat in front of the big boss.

"Yeah," he responded, turning to face him and placing a packed file in front of him. "Recently, there have been murders all over town. The thing is, it's been going on for years, decades. Odds are, it's a different person from the first one."

"What makes you say that?" Kageyama asked.

"Well before, these murdered were carefully picked and carefully done. Many look like accidents. But look here," he brought out another file, one with all the cases. "They're getting sloppier."

"Maybe they got bored and wanted to try something new?" His boss looked at him, dead serious.

"But why be such an idiot to leave the bodies like this?" He straightened himself and sighed. "Look we don't even know what's really going on. We hardly know if these cases are even related, but you know our sources are never wrong."

Kageyama sighed. "So? Why did you call me here?"

"Look in the file." As he ordered, he looked inside, seeing a list of suspects. It was rather short, only three, but he recognized that bright smile. "I want you to investigate him."

Kageyama stood up, objecting the idea.

"I can investigate the others-"

"No!" The boss slammed his hand on the table and the other flinched. "If he really is the one, then he will notice. He goes to your school, so he shouldn't notice. Plus you're pretty close as is."

"I know but-"

"Tobio. Surely you remember our deal?" Kageyama paused, accepting defeat. He closed his mouth and swallowed, clearly uncomfortable.

"Yeah..."

"Then do as I say. You just need to prove he's innocent if you really think he's not the one, but know if he is..."

He knew, but he didn't want to listen.

He simply nodded and left the room with his file. The file of his close friend he considered his rival. The one with a bright smile that could make his day, and the stupid things he would say to prove his point.

... the other eye.

He shook his head in denial. "It's not him..." he muttered, walking home.

It's not him...

A/n I hope it was okay! I hope you guys liked it ><
