a/n I totally didn't forget what happened for a moment (month) shhhh. I hope you enjoy this chapter!!!
Kageyama opened his eyes, only to see a bright sunshine staring him down. It took most of his energy to not react in a startled way. He forced a smile and brushed his hand against his cheek, then placing his hair behind his ear.
It didn't take long before that smile became real.
Hinata chuckled, burrowing his face into the pillow, but he could hear that strained feeling in the killer's voice. Surely it was his imagination, right?
'So many questions,' the two of them thought. 'So many questions.'
Hinata perked up and got out of bed. "Come on, we're gonna be late for school." Kageyama responded with a groan.
"School..." The sunshine laughed wholeheartedly and the other couldn't help but join in. The moment in itself felt perfect.
Even though it was built on lies.
"Okay," Kageyama got out of bed. "I should go get something for us to eat. You can stay here if you want." Hinata visibly thought.
"Uh, yeah. I will," he grinned and saw Kageyama walk out and close the door. His smile dropped. He opened his closet door and moved his clothes to the sides.
'Maybe it's the same.' He knocked on it twice to see if it was hollow. He laughed inwardly. This must have felt the same for Kageyama. He lightly touched the back, but nothing happened. So he tried a little harder and much to his disappointment, nothing happened. Hinata sighed, feeling a bit defeated, realizing Kageyama might not have been the idiot he initially thought.
He put the clothes back to where they were and closed the closet door. He sighed heavily but put on his happy facade. He walked out to see Kageyama checking his pantry. He walked up behind him and hugged him. Kageyama looked back, startled.
"I, hello," he couldn't help but say.
"Do we have to go to school today?" Hinata whined. Kageyama laughed and told him that they should. The sunshine pouted. "Why don't we go on a date instead?"
The other stared, confused. A date? But they were students, and it would be so noticeable that they were students who were skipping class. They would also have to skip practice. Hinata was willing to skip practice? Why?
His poor mind overloaded with question, unfortunately for him, he did nothing physically and so all Hinata got, was a shocked teenager who just looked confused. The bright boy couldn't help but burst into laughter.
"Kageyama~ If you think too hard you'll get sick." The setter finally composed himself and hit the boy in disbelief.
"How dare you, I am perfectly capable of thinking." Hinata rubbed his head.
"Ow... You made me sad. As punishment we will go on a date." Kageyama shook his head as he tried to comprehend the situation.
"I-, you-, what?" In the end they both laughed it off and decided to go out on a date.
~~~
"Freedom!" Hinata shouted as he walked out the door. Kageyama simply stayed quiet as he closed his front door.
The setter wore a navy blue hoody with a pair of sweatpants and some running shoes. He wore a beanie and some sunglasses to hid his identity, or at least, that what he hoped for.
Hinata also wore a hoody, which for him was oversized since Kageyama was a larger size than him. He had to wear the pants he wore prior, which was still pretty clean and he wore a cap to hide his bright orange hair. He stifled a laugh once he saw Kageyama looking a lot more suspicious than he should. He grabbed his sunglasses and put them away, Kageyama protesting in the process.
